In my almost humble opinion, the cure for lost discs is not fresh snow, it is spotters. The group in front of you guarantees there will be footprints. More or fewer footprints isn't the issue since you need spotters either way. In preparation for the tournament on Sunday, the Saturday league will at least pack down some of the snow and make the long, long walks easier.
As always, since I don't run the league but hugely appreciate that someone else puts in the effort, I totally support whatever decision you end up with.

I was already thinking that would be a good idea- but the time constraint by pushing it back 30 minutes and 10 minutes further from work, with a long, snowy round could be troublesome. Let's play 18 short tees if we do this.

For those who are not playing the tournament on Saturday, doubles this week at Independence is on! Joe Arnet will be taking the money and determining the teams. Double points is a very good possibility.

Lost disc at the Chuck D course at Indy Lake.
Yesterday (12/19/09) I left a pink Z Flash (with my name on it) on hole #18. If anyone picked it up I am offering a generous reward for its return. Thanks. 248-505-3568

Thanks everyone for the feedback.
I think for now we will go with AM Women shoot from the whites when we play the Chuck D. Pro Women shoot from the longs if we are playing longs. We'll see how it goes and adjust if needed.

Here are the facts we had from the summer session.
15 women attended
56 total rounds
9 of those rounds cashed out of 132 possible payouts.
So a 14.7% payout average for the season. Which is very good.
No Junior (Andrew and Cody both play like everyone else) cashed.
Partners included: Al Shack, Mark Ellis, KT, Mike Henery............

The way we do it at Kensington is: AM women shoot from the short tees and draw as an AM. PRO women and AM1 women shoot from the longs and draw as an AM. All Juniors (except Andrew) shoot from the shorts and draw as an AM. There were 4 occasions where women cashed this year. Its the luck of the draw the same as it is with men. How many times has Mark E gotten an AM4 player or woman and won, or gotten an AM2 partner and not cashed. It is all part of the great cycle of league play. Jim sai ... more

How many times has Mark E gotten an AM4 player or woman and won, or gotten an AM2 partner and not cashed. It is all part of the great cycle of league play. Jim said it best "on the pro side, there is a select group of people that usually cash, another group that occasionally cashes, and some that rarely/never cash". So we give a group of people we need for the sport to grow an opportunity to have a positive experience at the sport they love. Everyone has a chance to win something at leagues. If not cashing, an ace or win CTP. We play the game to win , yes. We also play for the experience and the rush it brings when you have a great shot. If we dont cash then we try to get better and the thing we do wrong. So we give a little kid of woman a chance to cash, but its how they come to love the sport. Trust me, I know.
