Monday Night League is Over For the year.

Keep your fingers crossed that the county has their plan in place for a spring reopening of the wonderful Blizzard Hills Disc Golf Course that was established 2008. One season with all 18 wonderful holes was not nearly enough and certainly not what any of us expected from Ward.

Nice Turnout - Beautiful ACE - Peanut Night

What a great night at Blizzard Hills - 20 players showed for a record number to enjoy Peanut Night, cool weather, less mosquitoes and a disc golf course that looks better than ever imagined. Paul Grasso, the TD that runs the Tuesday League at Hollywoods took a detour from his family vacation to stop by for a first time visit and league play at Blizzard Hills and that detour proved to be a smart move when Paul launched a beauty of a drive on the 278' hole six towards the hidden basket around the ... more

New Doubles record set @ Blizzard Hills

15 year old Jacob Fiebke and Master's Champion Kevin Sauve teamed up on August 16th to burn up the course starting out with birdies on holes 1-5 and finishing with a huge 3 on hole 18, the hole that usually denies any record scores from being posted. The round consisted of 10 birdies and only 1one 4 on hole 7, a normal par 4 hole. And although the Master Champion was on his game with putting and driving, don't think Jacob, at the young and tender age of 15 was along for lessons. Jacob made birdi ... more

nice ace on hole #3, Kevin's first ever off a tree. The shot was going just slightly left of the perfect route, just brushing a tree 1/2 way to the basket, redirecting it on the perfect route into the chains and basket.

re: stolen basket at Blizzard Hills

SO many stepped up to the plate to get Blizzard Hills a new basket, many thanks to all including the Pinconning businesses, Saginaw Valley Chain Smokers and Chippewa Banks DGC. I had some thoughts about the reward offered and yes, we would be VERY THRILLED to find the basket and help put a stop to the destruction and theft occurring at many of the disc golf courses around the country, but to reward anyone that supplies the info will have to be withdrawn. My feeling is that if someone comes forth ... more

Congrats to Thom Kelly and Tom Swathort for tying the low record round of 6 under par, 48 strokes for 18 holes. Tom Swathort and Kat Witucki also hold a score of 48 shot earlier this season. And for those of you that haven't played BH, when you do you'll find that it's THE MOST PEACEFUL setting and challenging course in Bay County and the entire Saginaw Valley selection of fine courses.

I'm crying as I type - but anyhow, let's all show up to play the first organized league play for 2010 and also spend some time with Ward for a farewell drink or two.
