For the past two years, and planned again this year, Marquette runs a singles league which pays out the top 2-3 players, and then the best 2-3 players based on the scoring midpoint that week. For the past two years, and planned again this year, Marquette runs a singles league which pays out the top 2-3 players, and then the best 2-3 players based on the scoring midpoint that week. Anyone has a chance to win the midpoint just based on how scores shake out, and you can't sandbag to win cuz you never know what the midpoint will be. We also keep stats of every player every week and develop a handicap rating. First year a portion of the entry fee each week went into a large pool for a year end skins match based on rank. Thus, the four lowest ranked players all played for $10 per hole just like the four highest ranked players. Last year they held a handicapped year ender where you essentially played against yourself. None of the top weekly players cashed in that event, and neither did the kid with a handicap of 38 (he was effecttively throwing a "7" even after 10 holes if I remember). It's too bad about the drama. There will always be haters and naysayers. I see it all the time, and all too often. Rise above, keep playing, skip the drama, have fun.

A new tuesday travel league will be set-up first league will be june 2nd at powder mill at 6. we will rotate each week to different courses in mrqt county..A mix between singles and doubles

bag tags r supposed to be optional. not mandatory. expecially when league host doesnt pay out for the tags like said that he would. then the next year to tell people that it is mandatory to buy one or u cant play in his league. well we just wanna play. no hard feelings

Just an alternative idea because IMO the Scene leaderboards more reward those who simply play a lot, and aren't as meanigful with respect to the top players in the area or league (like you said JV). It's like a "feel-good" leaderboard simply for those who are able to play a lot of leagues and accumulate points. I always was in favor of a "Percent of Players Beat" scoring system for leagues, so you got 100% for a win no matter where and how many people. For everyone else at the league who isn't the top player, the formats I mentioned by paying out a "B-Pool" at the scoring midpoint, and running a league ender based on handicap, are just alternatives to level the playing feel and allow everyone to at least think they have a chance. The premise of the bag tags is that they are the "side bet" (for lack of a better word) during a league round, in which players can still compete and see how they truly stack up against the rest.

also just because I'm one if the better players in the yoop, and cash most every week doesn't mean I should be punished or called out for making money..I've done the time and my game has progressed to where most leagues I will likely be at the top..I'm not going to apologize for that

also smoking chains forces players to pay the $1 each week to end of the year payouts to the top players..that's over $20 a year they extort per basically each player..I was charging $5..That's way less then they charge..They should make that extra $1 optional

Is not profitable I have paid out and given away, hours and tools and supplies building, supplies for leagues eg my badass ctp makers.... Any way I'm in the hole and it ain't a basket. Disc golf is fun and I hope this drama ends also that dude was a total tool in my one interaction with him. And if you are not looking to compete don't play in a competitive league. Maybe start your own with no money on the line

And the top 5 format with No handicapping etc and just using scenes setup is pretty much going to pay out who ever runs league as they will be there every week and probably a few of their close buddies

Exactly..I figured with the tags, it would give it her players a chance at getting in on the year end prizes, as well as a league party where we play high low dubs fir the remainder of the league money..Its a good format, it's just tough to do it all at that low of money at the yr.end..Really $10 per person is best.

Disc Da UP just offered up a chance to form a regional organization where every club could have a seat at the table and we could work together, standardize, leverage, and really grow the sport. So, gotta throw this out there. Disc Da UP just offered up a chance to form a regional organization where every club could have a seat at the table and we could work together, standardize, leverage, and really grow the sport. There wasn't much interest beyond the Iron Mountain and Range Gliders. We could work together and strive for a great, standardized, and meaningful UP series (kinda like Northern Waters Series). Most disc golfers wanna do things their way though. The problem with disc golf and leagues is our own, it's us the disc golfers who typically want want want and give very little. $300 that JV might have spent is MINISCULE compared to what I've donated, plus THOUSANDS of hours into building and maintenance since 2002! We could work together, that would be nice, I fear it's a far-fetched dream though.

And ive done nothing wrong here just highly pissed off because Jamie is now the biggest hypocrite I know trying to make smoking chains look bad saying we are taking mandatory money just like he was with our 1$ per person going towards end of year payouts.....which isn't same as him because we have sponsors every week giving free discs away and will have huge party and every dollar in our league is accounted for.....plus all our sponsor will always be on board.....and smoking chains will also be running at least 4 weekends for kids thats in stone at this time with over ten sponsors with that right now and only been working on that for ten days....smoking chains is nothing at what Jamie is trying to say.....should Austin done his league at different time YES but that was his call.....so Jamie making all these comments is just putting more fuel on his fire in delta county promise that!!!!

I personally always donate back to the course after all events, and go out of my way to make them as fun as possible. Only had a couple complaints out of hundreds of people, I must be doing something right.

Tim, that is a great idea..I personally will be leaving for the west coast this winter and will be dissolving my current club..if for some reason I did wind up back here in the summer I will only be focusing on sanctioned tournaments..This is my last season running leagues.for awhile.
