It's TIME!
Time to get this league started. The winter was way to long!!!!!!
We started April 3rd last year. The course is ready. Tuesday nights again. If someone else wants to keep track of scores and points for me that would be great. I will make them an assistant. We can have a practice round on the 7th. And start next week on the 14th of May. I am open for ideas for this year. Let's play!

We had a very good turn out! 18 players total. 14 in Div 1 and 4 in Div 2. Trevor Joseph and Jon Chojnacki took first place in their divisions. Thank you Bob Messerli for being my assistant administrator this year. I would also like to thank Lenny Allen for being director in building the course and for all those who helped out. The sponsors and those who have contributed.

We will no longer be having the tournament on Monday Sept 3rd. But it will held on Saturday Sept 8th at 9 AM. I hope this will cause a better turn out. Remember this is an invite also. $8 fee. Two 18 hole rounds. Two divisions. Registration and lunch at pavillion. More info to follow. See you there!!!

I had to make some adjustments to handicaps because of the marked improvement of a few players coming off a month of team play. Joe turned in the top score last week with 7 under par very nice! I know of two players that can't make the tourney, anyone esle? Monday Sept 3rd 9 am.

Labor Day League Tournament
Registration at 9 am at upper pavilion area.
Two divisions Amature and Pro
Two 18 hole rounds. Total low score wins each division.
$8 Fee. Includes lunch at pavillion if available.
Please have score recorded after each round at pavillion and for pairing purposes
First and second place cash prizes for each division to be determined based on enteries

Jon and I played against Pete and Dan. It was a close contest each winning large skin holes. We were tied standing at the 17th tee. We lost 17 with 2 bad tees each nailing trees. We had a chance to tie on the last hole so I teed off with my classic shark curve coming to rest only 3 ft from the hole. I figured we had this hole in the bag until Dan tees off and puts his just outside mine! We were 6 under to their 7 under. They won the skin battle too.

Happy Independence Day!
I know of 4 teams that played yesterday. I played with Paul against Dan and Pete. We struggled early on but improved our score in the end with 4 birds on the last 4 holes. Dan and Pete ruled over us with 10 under par 46. Claiming 13 skins to our 1.
I got a text from Bob, he was on a team with Myron playing against Nick and Cody Lotz. They were ruled over also, they posted 7 under but Nick and Cody shot a 43 for 13 under! No word on skins. Happy 4th! Be safe.

I need to know every team that is formed. If you are not on a team let me know and I will help you get with some one. I will number each team and then get you on a schedule to play a different team each week. You will have to send me a message telling me how many skins you won each week. There might be a problem entering doubles team members, I just had a problem myself got to get that figured out.

Wow! Four way tie for first! Kurt leads the points leaderboard, I will try and get that reset for skins totals! OK this ends June. July is all team play doubles. So form a team and let me know who you are. Schedule a time to play against another team. If your team has no one to play against let me know. You can win one skin per hole by beating the other team, ties carries skin to next hole till a team wins them. Questions and how to score call me 715-360-7178. Or send me a message on this website. It is possible to win more skins and lose at total score.

All team play doubles. You must form your team and play against another team if at all possible. It's best disc all the way to the pin. More news to follow...I don't want to see two great players forming a team!

Two teams were formed so far. Kurt and John played tuesday, we shot 7 birds for 7 under.
The other team was Pete and Dan, both with handicaps in regular league play shooting 6 under, impressive!

Tuesday Nite 4 PM Doubles 06/12/2012
Normal league round for the week plus optional team play. Form two players per team best disc! Choose the best throw of your team and each throw from that spot and repeat the process. Record your scores as 'doubles' not 'singles' then you can enter your team member. If you are not able to play Tuesday then play when you can. Two teams per group.

Joe Swenson played extremely well shooting 9 under par, no bogies and 9 birds. Myron and Nick each shot eagles on 16. I tried to reset the Point Leader Board but could not. Myron now has taken over the lead there. I eliminated some of the extra handicap point rules trying to make it simplier. Joe comes out of nowhere to take the top position and 38 points! Christopher and Joseph bounce from top to bottom. (What's going on there?) The Allens are showing their stuff coming in 2nd and 3rd. A total of 8 players under par. Nick had a record 9 birdies. Chris had the most bogies with 12.( Working on that next handicap are we?) Good times- Just wait till June!

Updated handicaps prove players are improving! Scores are dropping along with handicaps. Kyle, Chris and Joseph all played very well. It's turning out to be very competitive! You never know who is going to be on top week to week! Congrats Kyle and Chris. Joesph said he was on 'fire' with a 59, compared to the 70's he was shooting. Your raking in points from both ends. What will next week have in store?

Format
The current format will run till the end of May. Then we will recognize those on top or those who have improved this month. We can then change it up for June. I would like to have a special event on Sat in June. Perhaps a doubles event with a fee for prizes or a dirty money round. Do some grilling for lunch in between rounds. Any ideas?

Alot of movement with handicaps in effect and new points system. I will generate new handicaps for next week. Never found a score for Joe or Alex. The top 3 of last week suffered this week. Don't know the whole story there. I can just imagine all the groning going on today at the course around noon and wednesday. The pressure of being on top -wew! Sorry guys.

For the Month of May 5 Rounds
Points System:
Playing a league round = 5 points
You get 1 point for each player you beat per week
Ace = 8 points/ Eagle = 4 points
Most birdies = 5 points
Most bogies = 5 points
Lowest score of the week = 5 points (split equally if tie)
Highest score of the week = 3 points
Shoot 2 to 4 strokes below handicap = 5 points
Shoot 2 to 4 strokes above handicap = 2 points
Shoot 5 or more strokes below handicap = 7 points
Shoot 5 or more strokes above handicap = 1 point

League Change
From now on I want every bodies league round to done before Friday. That frees up the weekend for other activites that we might want to do. And it's easier for me. I'm spending to much time chasing down scores. I will from now on I will post to leaderboard on thursday night if I can. I will make exceptions with good reason.
This is the only way I can communicate with all of you guys. Some of you are not very computer savvy or don't care to check this web site or your own emails, so please ask someone who is to find out whats going on. You who are in the know let those who are not. Thanks!

Starting May 1st
Handicaps will be calculated and given to you based on the the average of the three lowest league scores at Almon park. Not every one has three scores right now so you will get the best average available. As soon as you do have three scores, your handicap can be recalculated.
Handicaps = (ave score - 56) x 80% rounded up at .5 or above.
If you don't want a handicap, please tell me and I will remove it.
Handicaps will be recalculated as needed.
A point system will also begin, details still being worked on...

First Ace of the League
Kurt Bergstrom made the first ace of the year and this league! It was on hole number 13 at Almon Park on 04/24/2012. Jon Chojnacki and John Emmer witnesses. The Ace pool can still be divided if some one else gets an ace this week in league play. Please contribute your $2 if you wanted in and did not pay yet. Next week we will be collecting 2 more dollars if you want in again.

The Wallaces are not able to play tuesdays due to work shift change. They will now play their league round Thursday 4pm. There's alot of interest right now and it's still early in the season. As of now I am asking for help to just promote this league and club and get as many people signed up as possible!!!! I need staff members to help me out. As of of right now we will just play week to week, get to know each other better and post our scores and pics. This web site makes every thing easy!
