STEPPING UP THE LEVEL OF OUR LEAGUE

As of this Wednesday we will be losing our dear Brandon Butler , who will be following his career to the next level. The good news is we are adding new ideas and added incentives for our league . I have got a food sponsorship froma local bar L S Discs will be sponsoring the league so we will have sweet merchandise for the club . Finally the last but sweetest by far is once a month we will have a mini tourney ( unsanctioned one round ) called a monthly with a cost of 20$ dollars which all play ... more

Update If you haven't heard, we have 3 berths for the 2011 Michigan State Championship. The berths will be awarded based on points. The last round that points will count toward berths will be July 27th. The following week, on August 3rd, the golfer with the most points will be awarded a berthOverall winnner prior to States wins a berth. If winner has a berth already, it will pass down. Tricky weather

It turned into a sunny evening after that storm dumped on us last night. Jared and Andrew threw a -11 for first place and $60. Good shooting sirs! No aces hit last night so the pool grows to $199.
On a personal note, I want to say I have had fun golfing with everybody on Wednesday nights for the past year. I am glad I met all of you and hopefully we will golf again in the future. I will be moving to St. Louis for work in the coming weeks so yesterday was probably my last day at league. I wish everyone the best of luck in golf and life!

Great turnout tonight with 28 players. 2J and Doug almost tied the Wednesday night record with -17. Ziggy and Future battled it out to finish -16.

Classic revisited

If you missed the Classic, want some more, or need revenge, we plan on playing the long tees from the Classic this Wednesday. Holes 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 17 will be playing long tees unless specified otherwise before the round.
We will try to have the tees clearly marked with paint, but at the very least we will have flags in place.
Forecast calls for a sunny 95 degrees, so remember to stay hydrated!

8 players last night in the torrential downpour. It cleared eventually, and Kassabian took full advantage of the calm by smashing an ace on 8 for $178! Nice shot, Mark!

Finally feels like spring

We had some beautiful weather last night and a good turnout: 29 players. Mike Henry and Mark Kassabian took first cash with -14, and there were three teams with -11's. No aces hit so we have $293 in the pool. See you next week!

Nasty forecast

The forecast for Wednesday calls for a "wintry mix" at near freezing temps. Come out and join us in calling BS on the weather man.

2011 MDDGL Wednesday Night Dubs Kickoff

Get your butt out to Firefighters on Wednesday March 16th before 6pm for the start of the 2011 season. Please pay in before 6pm so we can get the round under way as quickly as possible. It is right after the time change but sunlight is still short and we will most likely be playing into dark.

We plan on using the same format as last year, $5 buy-in $2 ace pool, random-draw. We will start the 2011 season with a nice $179 in the ace pool which will pay out HALF when it is hit. Wednesday, 4/14 6:00pm Tee Time

The past two years we have tried various formats of play to see where the interest was. It was evident that two types of players were showing up, those that wanted to play for prize money and those that just wanted to have a casual competitive night playing disc golf. This year there will be two separate divisions of play. Kurt Maty will be running the Best Shot Doubles Division and Victor Lenivov will be running the Casual but competitive play division. We are here to provide a place for the areas disc golf players to enjoy competition against their fellow disc golfers.
