Cali ace pool.
A third option has been suggested.

Vote:

1. If a cali players second drive is an ace, it counts towards the ace pool.

2. A second drive from a cali player, does not count towards the ace pool.

3. A cali player may pay an additional $2 towards ace pool (just like paying an extra $5 to recieve 100% payout vs. 50% payout of their finishing place), for their second drive to count towards ace pool.

Please, everyone vote. Thanks.

Dave, no "shenanigans" here. I have also played since Jason started the Kensington leagues over 2 years ago (June 4th 2007) missing only 3 weeks in that time (Dglo and Worlds). Jason missed more than that. This was the way it always has been. I know for sure because it was dissussed. I agree, I would flip for cali myself if I knew I could have 48 drives to get an ace. Who would not. A rule is not " preposterous" because you did not know the rule. You may think it is a ... more

So it was stated last Sunday that Cali's second tee shot does not count for ace pool. I have been coming to this league since the first day Kirkaldy and Gene ran it and this is the first I've heard of these shenanigans. When was this rule put into effect? When the lower ams (who dont want Cali because they want a pro partner) realized that the pros flipping for it have a better chance of hitting the ace.
Tell those ams to man up and pay the extra $5 for a better chance at half of $75 ... more

Jeff,
Had a great time! I will be back next sunday with a carload, I can't just take $60 from you guys & not pay some back in (bad karma)
You definately need to put the foot down & start turning late arrivals away, I know you don't wanna be a dick but if you don't start sometime people will keep taking advantage of your kind nature.
Also if you'd be intrested I can bring some sweet CTP's out. Mabey during the round you can have 2 or 3 holes with a Free CTP disc prize to give away, just a thought.
See ya next week!

Thanks to everyone for coming out Sunday. 48 players, ace pool up to $490 (50% payout=$245). Thanks go out to Penny for all the Bannana Nut Bread. Nice job Dave M and me, -12 (not bad for a sick guy, dave hit some clutch puts at the end). Gonna tweek the draw just a little by not moving any AMs up to the Pro side so everyone has a shot at drawing our beloved big guns. Thanks again and see you Sunday.

i like how you say "AM2/AM3/Pro Women/....and Andrew" thats great!! but i like the idea. Evens out the playing field for sure. I was talking to some casuals the other day and mentioned this new setup and got some good feedback. Im trying to spread the word and get more people to come out. The more the better right??

I have recieved a suggestion about leagues and how to make the draw more even. I would like some feedback on this. Currently we do a Pro/Am draw. Of course we have many Am's so some have to move up to the Pro side to make even teams. Doing this makes it possible for an AM3 and a casual to pair up making the round miserable. The suggestion is this:

Have 3 groups:
Group 1: Pro Men/AM1
Group 2: AM2/AM3/Pro Women/Andrew
Group 3: AM4/AM Women/Juinors/Casuals(Newbies)

Group 1 wou ... more

Nice turn out today. 41 even with tournys going on today is great. Ace pool is growing to big money again. Took in 2 new members so we are up to 23. 103 have visited is the past 5 weeks. The draw went smoothly, the cut off time worked great so we started at noon. Please remember to place your first and last name on your scorcards so I can post them and you get credit. Every week someone forgets (I figured it out after a few phone calls this week). Thanks to every one who came out. See you next week.
