Don't forget, next Wednesday we tee early again. I will also tee early as I want to finish my round this time. Everyone can tee as early as 5, I'm going out at 530 and will leave score cards on my car for anyone to take who shows after. There will also be a place for you to put acepool and 50/50 money, but you wont know where that is til you get there. Remember, we are playing the new course and it's Spag's birthday, so heckle him freely all round. And enough talk about the Woods. We all ... more

Once again, Dimick is right. I never complained about the course. The course isn't the problem. Maybe I'm just unlucky in the meetings I have with casuals at grand woods and Mr. 32000 is right. However, I think it's much more likely that you are misrepresenting the facts. The majority of players at grand woods that arent members of our league, Tuesday doubles, women's league, or a league from a different city are not nice people- no matter how you approach them. It's possible that they, just lik ... more

I wasn't complaining about the new holes, i like them (except i'd like to see a better fairway on f) but they are fine. And I love grand woods, its where i started playing and learned the game. But it's different than it was 7 years ago, I was a casual when i started but I never destroyed tee signs or tagged anything or just broke shit to break shit. Everyone is complaining because lots of the people on the course have no respect for anything that isn't theirs. They dont give a shit about th ... more

Look first of people are only as rude as they are treated, so for the club members that walk onto the course at the woods and act like you have more rights to be there than the hundred or so people that use the course everyday that your not there and expect people to treat you any kind of respect your wrong. how about talking to them the same you talk to someone in the club be casual, inform them and be polite, if we can not be these things how can you expect them to be. The bigger issue was t ... more

Dimick is right. Grand woods will never change. It's very sad and unfourtanate for there to be a need to resort to extreme measures, but take a look at the pay to play courses in the area. Burchfield, Sleepy Hollow, even Fitz, you don't have the problems that you have at Grand Woods. The reason why signs are pointless isn't because the scumbags are ignorant of common courtesy, it's because they don't care. I say the club needs to pull the baskets from grand woods and replace them with the rasket ... more

As of now.. the round will not be rated since not everyone played in the same conditions... some finished before dark, others finished in the dark. 6 players decided not to finish out in the dark, the rest did. The point will count, we will do a make-up round for ratings. And I'm one of those people who added the 6 additional holes and couldn't be happier about it. But it's a public park that is free to play. Unless I pull all the baskets there's not much I can do. I will put up a sign a ... more

I wish we could make some rules and post them on the board....but do you think the morons that play that course would even read or follow any sort of rules? There's no consequences for breaking them so they are just gonna keep being a drain on society. I just think we should stop playing that course and stop putting money into it because its not going to change.

I am not suggesting or do not want anyone to drop a score. No one else should be penalized for these idiots.

I am suggesting the people in charge, who added 6 additional holes to this cesspool of human debris, make some

coarse rules and fix the freaking problem.

How about, "Any group larger than 4 must allow smaller groups to play through (in writing on the board)."

We played 16-18 and 1 in the dark. I'm not lacking for empathy - playing at grand woods in the evening on a nice day even by myself is an exercise in patience - but I would be pretty bummed if the week was dropped, even if my score was double digits.

I agree as well ....

I agree with Jim. We should vote on it. Drop the week or keep the week.

For the record, we didn't just not fiinish Wed. night, We had SEVEN holes left at 9:45pm after teeing off on hole #16 at 5:30!

Waited 15 min on teepad #1, 15 min on #2, 40 min on #3, 20 minutes on #7, 20 minutes on #A, 30 minutes on #B, and numerous other delays.

Many golf (ball) coarses are on public property and they still have rules about group size and etiquette. Allowing and waiting for drunken groups of 7 and 8 to play on a public coarse is outrageous. To utimately be penalized, even more ridiculous.

I feel better now.

Since Sam is obsessed with my legs, I bought a new pair of shorts for Wednesday's and took a picture.

Is this really going to benefit the league?

just my two cents, I've been really happy with my merrill moab mid II's, they're waterproof for the spring / fall and breathable for the summer.
