About this League
The “Disc Golf League Players Union” is proud to present the first Ann Arbor Cooperative Disc Golf Point Series league to promote Winter fun for all us players, at a variety of our local courses, and bring our leagues and clubs closer together to cooperatively achieve bigger things for the players.
The Greens Keepers Disc Golf Club, Local 101 Disc Golf Player’s Union, and Ypsilanti Disc Golf clubs have come together and with the assistance of the Disc Golf Scene website have created a local Point Series to combine points from individual league rounds played at participating leagues.
Double points if temp is 15 degrees Fahrenheit including wind chill or less.
Winter Aces are worth 50 extra points.
League points are tracked in the individual leagues as previous and also accumulated here in the Ann Arbor Cooperative Point Series League from all participating leagues. Play one or play them all to maximize your points.
Special events for additional points are under discussion and will be posted throughout the Winter season.
The final event will be in March to crown the Point Series Champion and thaw out before the Summer Leagues begin.
Cost – Save your cold hard cash – free to all participating league players. For points to automatically transfer to the Ann Arbor Cooperative Point Series League you must be a registered player (have a profile) on the Disc Golf Scene, www.discgolfscene.com.
The following Clubs and Leagues are participating in the First Ann Arbor Cooperative Point Series:
The Greens Keepers Disc Golf Club
Washtenaw County Glow Winter League - Bandemer Park
Local 101 Disc Golf Player's Union
Saturday Doubles Winter 2009/10 - Indy Lake
Ypsilanti Disc Golf
Ypsi Dubs Winter League - Rolling Hills
Please check these individual leagues postings for dates and location of their leagues that will be included in the Point Series.

A2CoPS Final Event - Sunday 3/7
A2CoPS Final Event - Sunday 3/7
Registration: 9:30-10:00 am in the parking lot for the Chuck D Course. 10:00am cutoff for reg, don't be late!!
Course Report:
I was out at the Park yesterday and the only bad spots were in the parking lot. It's still getting pretty cold at night, and the forecast shows 22 for Saturday night. There is still a good amount of snow out there, but it is compacted down and I don't foresee any issues with lost discs. For the first round at 10am the ground will still be pretty solid. Some of the teepads will be still snowy/slushy. Bring good waterproof boots or cleats if you have them.
We will run the Final 9 on the northside Picnic (Beach Center) where there are plenty of paths to throw from and good views for the spectators. This should at least provide good footing for the players in the final 9. Lunch will also be served inside the building by Hole 1 Picnic.
Lunch will be provided from Subway. That's right, the PARTY SUB is back. Lunch cost is included in the $25 entry fee. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER TO GUARANTEE LUNCH. We need to know how many people to plan for, so please help us out and register if you plan on attending on Sunday. Post on the talk section on DGScene if you plan on attending please:
http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Ann_Arbor_Cooperative_Point_Series_A2CoPS_Final_Event_2010/talk
I hear a rumor that someone may bring a 5 gallon pressurized canister full of holy water. That is an unofficial unconfirmed statement though.
Norm Raby is in process of die-ing some ESP Nukes with the A2CoPS logo. These will be given out as CTPs during the first round. Sounds pretty cool, I can't wait to see them.
So Sunday Sunday Sunday. Let's crown our League champ and get ready for the MI Cooperative Points Series - Summer 2010.

2/7/2010 Summary
Wow - 41 parishioners came to Church for a Sunday blowout - Supper Bowl Sunday round - Hot Damn
Yes Double points to help chase away the chill. Sorry to those who could not make it - it cause some movement in the leader board.
But first welcome Mike Manning, Jake Ward, Corey Kieft, Nathan Mollema to their first service - glad you all made the pilgrimage. Danger Dave (Schrag) and Matt Carter made it out for thier first Ypsi Dubs Winter round - always an honor. I'll post the URL when the Video hit the theaters.
For the Ypsi Dubs Church leader board:
Ben Calhoun moved up and into 10th position. Matt Schooley and Chris Gee slip to 8th and 9th respectively. Joe Arnet jumps from 10th to tied for 6th with Greg Lane who also had a big jump from 9th. From 7th to parked at 5th is Mr. Ken Parks. Terry Calhoun jumps back in the top 10 from 11th to 4th - double points, -13 for 1st place can make some magic - Nice work Terry. JD still rock solid at 3rd. Pat Burke and Daemon Stahlin swap positions as Daemon also takes advantage of those double point & first place - count them- 88 points. Things are get'n fun....
A2CoPS - with only three more weeks till the Champ is crowned. Double points at Indy and now at Church, shaking things up - you don't want to miss a round - who were the movers and the shakers for the week:
Greg Lane moves into 10th, Tim Pills jumps from 14th to 9th - boom. Mike Fortunado and Joe Arnet slide just a bit but hold at 7th and 8th. JD again holding rock steady at 6th. Scott White was edged downward - hope the back country snow boarding was worth the missed points, glad to see yeah at Church..... Anslie takes advantage and pulls up to 4th as Ben Calhoun grabs the 3rd position 43 points out of 2nd, which is held firm by Bob Smart. Extending his lead down the final stretch is Daemon Stahlin at 666 (Satin), oops I mean, 656 and 81 point out front. There is time, especially with a few double point rounds. But can a few Glow rounds make up the difference - sounds like it's time to call in sick Bob and come to Church or fight for Independence on Saturdays.....
A2CoPS final Event March 7th - no matter how the points shake out - it will be a blast! Make sure your on the Leader board to be eligible - you must have played at least one A2CoPS participating league round to be able to play.
Needs some points - bandi Wednesday night - make sure you have your lights - the ones that work 6+ inches down - Oh is this going to be a fun one.
Peace be with you

DGLO #1 Points
The A2CoPS would like to encourage all of the area disc golf players to check out the DGLO Championship Series - Event #1 this Sunday taking place at two Ann Arbor area private courses. Tournament information is posted here:
http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/DGLO_Championship_Series_1_2010
The Ann Arbor Cooperative Points Series is hoping to encourage participation and help DGLO by including the first two events in the overall A2CoPS Winter Points Series. There has been lots of good discussion on how to calculate points over the last few weeks and thanks to all who have contributed. We are trying this out to see if tournaments will be included in future points series.
Points will be awarded based upon an agreed method as voted on by the Disc Golf League Player's Union on 1/12/2010. Here is the method for points calculation for the DGLO Series #1 and #2:
"Tournament Player Point Formula = (Participation points + Points earned (players beat) + Out Right 1st place Winner ) x Multiplier + ACE Points
“Multiplier”:
Point assignment formula is the one we use currently use plus a multiplier based on the entry fee. The DGLO Championship Series will be a 4x multiplier.
Participation points = 2
Points Earned – “based on current method” – one point per person you scored better than in your division – Ties get the same earned point total.
Out Right 1st place Winner – If 1st place is not a tie – then they are the Out Right Winner and this value equals 2
Ace Points – 50 pts for an ACE. (no Multiplier)
No temperature dependant (double points for less than 15degress) point incentives for tournaments.

Christmas News Post - 2nd Try
Hope this message finds you all well this time of year. Thanks to all of the players who have made this a great league season so far. We at Ann Arbor Cooperative Points Series (A2CoPS) have a few things we would like to let everyone know about.
1. There will be a final event points series event. Foz and the team are in the final planning stages right now. More details will be coming soon. It will be in March and it will wrap up the points series and should be a great time for all who show up.
2. A2CoPS will award 8 berths to the 2010 Michigan State Finals. This includes the berth package of disc, mini + other goodies. These will most likely go to the top 8 in the points and be awarded at the final event.
3. Discs! We have A2CoPS custom stamped discs and they are available right now! Pick some up for gifts or for yourself and know that 100% of the money raised will come back to the players. We are trying to build a competitive points series for the future, and this - our first season - is all about good feelings and the A2CoPS being generous. Take advantage of it!
Come out to your local A2CoPS league night to score some plastic. Or send one of the organizers a message here on discgolfscene and we will arrange for you to get your discs. We received: Z-Stalker, Soft Challenger, ESP Force, ESP Flash and ESP Buzzz all with the A2CoPS logo.
One final note:
Washtenaw County Wednesday Night Glow will be at Mary Beth Doyle Park tomorrow - 12/23/09. Tee off is set for 7:15pm and turnout is looking to be big. Don't miss this great opportunity for points! Play will resume at Bandemer on 12/30/09.
Happy Holidays!

A Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
Since we are focused on giving thanks and giving the A2CoPS league has updated the point award method to add participation points and are going back retroactively to update previous scores.
All players who complete a round and turn in a score card, except DNFs, receive 2 points.
These points are in addition to the 2 points for each team they beat and if first place is an Out Right Winner (- No tie for first with a playoff), then 1st place gets 2 points for no one beating them. DNF get no points but are counted as Beat by others. All the A2CoPS leagues scores have been updated to reflect these rules. The only new points rule is the participation rule.
If your not sure what to do to burn off all that turkey:
Wednesday: Glow at Bandemer (tonight) at 6:45
Friday: Ace Race at Hudson Mills - 10:30-11:30 registration.
Saturday: Indy Lake Doubles at Noon hosted by Local 101.
Saturday: Throw Your Arm Out 4 Gold!: The Throw Shop, (8-5)
Sunday: Turkey and Chains Open at Rolling Hills hosted by TADGA.
Wow – So much to be thankful for.
Be safe, throw often and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
