2014 Codorus Disc Golf Tag League

First off I would like to thank everyone for a great tag season! It has been fun and can't wait to see what is in store for next year. Second I would like to apologize for it taking me forever to post the finale update. There was a lot of confusion with scores and it was tough keeping track of everything going alongside N v S. Next year I would like to make the final event it's own entity. I would like to congratulate our top five finishers. Zach Anders takes home the 1st trophy, Matt Swartz the 2nd, Chas Ford the 3rd, Dylan Davis the 4th and Clay Roth the 5th. Dylan and Clay tied low tag took home the low trophy. Josh, Jason, and Brandon's tags were thrown in the mix. The ace pot of $65 was not hit and will carry over to next year. Until next time from your Disc Rolling... Train Whistle a Blowing... 8 disc golfers made it out to the last tag round before he finale. We played the Red Tournament 20! Our last highlight reel starts with Wayne hitting a bird on hole 2. Jason takes the 2 on 3. Everyone 3's hole 5. Josh takes 2 on 6. Mark who has had the most trouble with the island all year takes the lone 2 on 10! Better late than never. Dustin and Dylan take nice 3's on 12 to 13's basket. Dustin with the lone 3s on 15, 17 to 18, CC1, and CC3. The man was on fire! Andrew and Josh 2 CC 6. Andrew hits the 2 on CC7. Andrew and Dustin 2 CC8. Dustin and Dylan finish this seasons reel with 3s on CC9. Our guest Jake played the front with us. It has been one heck of a year. Dustin was the first person to purchase a tag and hold the 1. It looks like he will be the last. He will not be able to make it to the finale. Good shooting Dut! See you all at the N v S/tag finale next Sunday!

8 disc golfers dawned upon the back nine and x holes today. However the person that walked away with the 1 tag shot like a hundred. The Codlight reel starts on hole 11 with Dustin and Andrew with birds. Hole 12 Zach, Dustin, and Andrew 2. Josh takes a sweet 2 on hole 1x. Zach Anders with the big 2 on 2x. Andrew hits the bird 3 on 4x. Jason and Josh 2 hole 6x. Andrew hits the lone 2 on 7x. Dylan and Wayne 2 hole 13. Josh, Jason, and Andrew 2 hole 14. Dylan ends the Cod reel with a long 2 on 17. Remember the finale is the N v S on the 26th. One more 3:00 round left before the finale.

The gang played the back nine and x holes in my absence. We had a guest Jake who shot a 74 as well as a tag member who forgot her tag... Jessie Myers shot a 74. Come on out next week at 3pm. Blue course parking lot as usual. Remeber tags are on sale for $10 now so share that with your friends. The finale is nearing. I just started looking into getting trophies made. TAG FINALE QUESTION Would anyone be opposed to the finale coinciding with the N v S on Oct 26? It is $20 to play the tournament and I highly recommend that you join in whether or not we hold the finale with it. We play all 54 holes in the tournament!

6 disc golfers set foot on the blue 18 from the ams today. The highlight reel starts early on hole 1 with a root beer float of a flick from Wayne. Josh seals the deal with a deuce on 2. Josh 3s hole 6! Mark with the only 2 on 11. Dylan outside and Wayne inside the circle hit 2s on 12. Dylan and Josh deuce 14. Mark finishes the highlight reel with a two on 17. Our guest Daniel shot a 66! Come on out next week at 3. Dylan Davis will be running the show. I will be in South Carolina for the USDGC! Supporting our PA reps!

6 familiar faces showed up for tags today. Brandon put his 1 tag back in the mix. Starting on the CC Dylan takes the first 2 on hole 5. Hole 6 Zach takes the lone 2. Dylan strikes back with a 2 on 7. Josh decides he would like a piece of the action with a 2 after his drive flew past the basket on 8. Onto the back 9 we start on 13 with Ken and Wayne getting 2s. Anders 2 on 16. Josh parks 18 and walks away with the 2. We arrive at island 10. Anders, Dereck, Ken and Wayne make the island. Ken and Wayne connect with their 2s. Anders, Ken, and Wayne bird 11. Anders parks 12 for the birdie and 3 stroke win. With a smile on his face Anders drove away with the 1 and a bottle of Jergens. Come on out for tags next week blue parking lot at 3. We are nearing the end of the season and TAGS CAN NOW BE PURCHASED FOR $10!

There were 9 Frolfers out for tags yesterday. We welcome our 20th and 21st tag members Josh Mertz and Joey Taylor! The gang played good ole blue 18. Our highlight reel starts with Ken and Andrew taking a bird on 2. Ken and Josh hit 2s on 5. Wayne hits the only 4 on 6. Andrew with the lone 2 on 7. Josh takes the 2 on 9. Dereck and Wayne take 2s on 12. Dylan and Josh get 2s on 13. Dylan finishes our highlight reel with a 2 on 18. Our guest Jake shot an 86. I hope to see everyone next week. We will play something involving Red and/or CC. We have been on the blue course the past 2 weeks. See everyone Sunday at 3 blue course parking lot.

This just in on Fox News... What did the Fox say? He said he had nothing to lose as we headed to hole 10. We played the Back 9 Blue and X holes from the pro pads. Dustin starts the highlight reel with a bird on 12. On 1x and 2x the Fox hits lone 3s. Then he hits the only four on the monster that is 4x's pro pad. Another lone 3 on 5x as well for Mark Fox! Dustin leaves the group after hole 9x. Wayne and Ken tried to muster up some strokes as Mark proceeds to hit every tree since Dustin wasn't there to hit them any more, but it was too little and too late. Great shooting Mark Fox! I hope to see everyone despite it being football season next week. Same bat time. Same bat channel.

Sorry for the late post. We played the purple layout and managed to get through the round without getting completely soaked. I'm gonna leave the highlights out for this week. I was once again able to slip by Jason and everyone managed to walk away with the same tag they came in with. I hope everyone is enjoying or got to enjoy their holiday weekend!. The good ole boys of Codorus played the back nine and cc from the am pads. Starting off at the island hole there were 11 discs that did not make the island between 7 golfers to play the hole. Among the golfers to play Ken and Wayne made it and their birds! Donnie and Dylan bird 11. Dylan 2s 12. Dylan and Mike 2 13. Dylan 2s 17! Donnie manages the only 3 on 1cc. Donnie and Wayne 3 3cc. Donnie and Ken 2 5. Dillon hits the only 2 on 6. Ken puts the smash on with nothing higher than a bogey. As well as only 1 bogey on CCs. Dillon Ruth our guest shot a 72. Come on out next week we start at 3:00 at the blue course parking lot! I'm coming for Donnie and Dylan they beat me by 1 stroke!!!

5 disc golfers set foot upon the blue course today and only 1 walked away with a smile. The round started with Andrew and Wayne 1 down after birds on 2. After that Wayne couldn't save par for the next 7 holes. Matt and Dylan tried to muster up some shots. Matt hits a 2 on 5. While Dylan hits the 3 only back to back 3s on 7 and 8. Star par on hole 9! Going into the back Andrew and Dylan are tied. Andrew bird on 13 while Dylan 4s. Dylan birds 14 Andrew pars. 17 Andrew hits the 2. Dylan gains 1 back but not enough with his bird on 18. A lot of discs got spit out today. Lets hope next week shows better! See you at the Cod!

12 disc golfers gathered at the blue course parking lot. The crew played the back 9 from the ams then pros. I'm gonna skip the highlight reel this week. 2 of the players today were guests. Doug who shot a 77 and Clint had a 82. Good shooting by Brando and Ken. Dylan once again beats me by one. I'm getting myself out to practice this week. I'm coming for ya Dylan! -Wayne

A total of 8 disc golfers made their way out to Codorus this afternoon. We welcome our newest tag member and fourth tag holder to hold the 1 tag, Brandon Lieffring! We played the Back 9 Red and CC from am pads. We will start the highlight reel with the Island 10 with Mikey, Brandon, and Wayne hitting birds. Brandon with a 2 on 11. Brandon and Ken bird 12. Donnie, Brandon, Dillon, Wayne, and Ken hit the easy 2 on 13. Brandon hits the only 3s on 14 and 15. Brandon with a 2 on 16. Dylan hits the 2 on 17. In the CCs Brandon hits the 3 on 4. Brandon with the only 2 on 5. Ken and Brando 2 hole 6. Hole 9 finishes the highlights with a 3 from Dylan! Our guests Jesse shot a 81 and Dillon a 70. Come on out next week. The group played front 9 blue and back 9 red. The one tag changed hands once again. Congrats Dylan. I was not there and will be absent this week as well due to PA States at Coyote Hills. If you're not going to States come on out we will still have tags!

We had 10 people show up to tags today. 2 of them are new members and 2 tagged along. Lets welcome Logan Bell and "The Perkualtor" Ken Perkins! Our guests were Dillon Ruth and Brian Mercer. Starting the highlight reel Ken hits the only 3 on 4! Dillon hits a bird on 7! Donnie Llama hits a bird on 11! Dylan, Wayne, and Ken hit 2s on 12! Donnie and Dillon hit 2s on 13! Ken hits the lone 2 on 14! Dylan hits the only 3 on 16. Ken finishes up the highlights with a 2 on 18! Brian left after nine holes and Dillon Ruth shot a 67! Dylan will be running tags next week I will be at the Seneca Sun Seeker. Thanks Dylan!

It was an eventful afternoon at Sunday Codorus Tags. First off we had our highest attendance with 10 tags and 1 guest (Owen Hileman). Top 4 tags were out and for the first time the 1 tag changes hands! Good shooting Clay Roth. We played the back 9 of blue and X holes! I only have two highlights to share there were probably more. On hole 18 J Roc (Jessie) Hits a 2 from outside 100 with her Roc. The biggest highligh though was Chris Barnabei's ace on hole 13. It was his first ace. He wasn't going to enter the ace pot, but he felt his hand was hot and entered in. He walked away with 49 smackaroos! Hope to see everyone out next week lets shoot for 12 people! Wayne took this week off to enjoy PA Speed Week. Five golfers came out to play the Red 18 Am tees to play tags and the lovely Jesse graced us with her presence outdriving some of the boys with her Star Roc. All players could drive for show, but only one could putt for dough to separate himself from the pack and defend the #1 Tag. Second place was a tight race with Andrew defending his #2 Tag and Clay Roth making his 2014 Codorus Debut moving up from his #16 to the #3 Tag.

We played the back 9 and x holes. Andrew crushed those who came out for tags. There were a couple highlights. Andrew hits 2 on 11. Justin gets the only bird on 12. Going into the xs Wayne hits a long putt for a 2 and Mikey parks his drive on 1x. 6x Andrew hits the only 2. Mike hits a 2 on 14. Andrew finishes the highlight reel with a 2 on 16. The battle turned out to be for the second place. In which we saw a tie and Ken not far behind. Justin celebrates a score below the 80s! I hope to see everyone next week. Til then take care!

We had six frolfers come out and play. We welcomed our good friend from Ruhlman Brewery... Matt Ruhlman!!! If you haven't had chance to try there beer, go to the brewery, and/or while you are there play their disc golf course Creeping Creek you should! We played the Purlpe Layout of front blue and back red. Andrew and Wayne start the highlight reel with a 2 on 2 blue! After hole 4 of blue we go to red 17 and Andrew hits another bird! Hole 18 Andrew puts his drive down by the trees, but no one hits a 2 :( Andrew and Jessie make the island 10 red and hit their birds! Hole 13 Andrew, Dylan, and Wayne 2. On 15 Matt puts a roller in putting range but misses the bird. Then Matt proceeds to crush an overhand on 16 red over the road and into the fairway of 5 blue. We venture back to the blue and Dylan hits a 2 on 5. Andrew hits an incredible 3 on 6. He then finishes his round by hitting the bird on 9 finishing 2 under! Lots of circles on the scorecard 8 all together between 6 golfers. Thats no

We played the CCs twice one round from the ams and one from pros. We had two new tag members join us don't get to excited, but the Donnie Llama is now a Codorus tag member and we also welcome Ken Whitestone! There were a couple exciting moments coming from my group of Dylan Davis, Andrew Bankert, Dustin Suliivan and Wayne Trump. From the am pads I flick in my zone outside of 100 on hole 3 for a 3. Then Dustin trumps it making a putt just inside 100 ft for a bird. Yet again Dustin hits the only bird on 5. Hole 6 Andrew and Dylan hit birds. Hole 8 Andrew his bird. From the pros Dustin hits the only bird on 5. I hit another bird about 75 ft flicking my dart. What mainly came down to the better scores were keeping the bogeys away and Andrew and Dylan did a great job of that. See everyone next week!

There was a good bit of competition going on between the top 3 tags, but as usual Anders walks away with the 1. Anders had the only 3 on hole 10 to 11. Andrew Bankert our newest tagholder had the only 2 on 12. We can do better than that! Going into the Xs Zach hits a 2 on 1X and 2X. Dylan, Zach, and Wayne hit the 2 on 6X. Wayne had the only 3 on 8X. Wayne and Zach then took 3s on 9X. On 13 Zach, Dylan, and Andrew hit dueces. Zach has the only 2 on 14. There was plenty of interesting disc golf. See you all next week and bring a friend!

We played the back 9 of red and cc. The island 10 put some strokes between Wayne and everyone else. Dylan mustered up two birds, but Wayne's 3 birdies and penalty free were enough to secure the 2 tag for a week. Come out next week when Dylan seeks vengeance on Wayne! We did some clean up on the CCs, but it still needs a lot of time and effort to clear. Thank you for all your help and everything you do to make Codorus a great park for disc golf!

Back 9 and X holes! Dylan gave me a good old fashioned butt whooping. I was hot at the beginning then a six and a five on 8x and 9x knocked me into a bogey streak. Dustin left early and we had a guest Jesse play along.-Wayne

We played the purple layout today. Which is the front 9 blue and the back 9 red from am tees. 7 tag members came out. Anders, Fox, Dut, and I played together starting on hole 1 blue. Anders and Dustin were battling it out throught the first holes. Mark and I were just along for the ride. We get to the island 10 Zach threw what looked like a Rhino and makes it. Dustin and I follow suit landing safely in the island. Mark steps up and comes up just short. He then proceeds to miss four more times and ends up taking a five circled 12. Zach and I miss our deuces and Dut cans it! Dustin cans another 2 after a good drive on 12. Dustin follows it up by ruing our star bird frame on 13 with a par. Going into hole 16 Anders checks the scores and realizes him and Dut are tied. Anders says it is time to quit playing around. Steps up and twos 16 while Dustin bogeys.
