Week 8

A small group of 37 players enjoyed a dry and pleasant evening with light winds at Orchard Park this week. For the third week in a row we had a team toy with a perfect round. This week it was Stephen Sines and Brody Cannon who settled for -17 and the win. Dave Zimmerman/Dave Clement were right on their heels with a -16 and four teams shot -15. A small group of 37 players enjoyed a dry and pleasant evening with light winds at Orchard Park this week. For the third week in a row we had a team toy with a perfect round. This week it was Stephen Sines and Brody Cannon who settled for -17 and the win. Dave Zimmerman/Dave Clement were right on their heels with a -16 and four teams shot -15.

Jason McGrew was closest to the basket on hole 1 and won an Innova towel and mini donated by Rainy Day Games.
Brody Cannon was closest on hole 6 and won a Tuesday Twos metal flake Katana donated by Rainy Day Games.

Paul Compton and the Portland Mobile Disc Lab donated a Latitude 64 Pure putter and T-shirt to the next player to ace hole 7. We even moved it to the short position but there were no takers so the disc and shirt will be up for grabs next week.

There were no aces this week; the ace pot climbs to $76.

Week 7

41 players enjoyed a warm evening of golf at Orchard Park this week as Chris Hill and Chris Dimbat shot a near-perfect -17 for the win. Steve Ellis and Brody Cannon were right behind with a -16. For the first time since week 2 (April 30), we had no aces this week. The ace pot will begin at $39 next week. Week 6

The threat of nasty weather kept attendance down again this week, but 40 players enjoyed calm and dry weather this week. Things heated up as Paul Compton and Crist Garcia toyed with a perfect round but settled for -17 and the win. Things got even hotter when Andy Black and Eric Holman both aced hole 1 and had to throw off to see who would take home the Tuesday Twos Champion Gator donated by Rainy Day Games (Andy took it). Things got even hotter when Andy Black and Eric Holman both aced hole 1 and had to throw off to see who would take home the Tuesday Twos Champion Gator donated by Rainy Day Games (Andy took it).

We had three course modifications in play this week - an island surrounding hole 2, grass OB on hole 4, and an alternate tee pad for hole 9.

Week 5

38 players braved the wet and windy conditions tonight, with the team of Chris Hill and Jason Hicks coming out on top with -16.

Week 4

We had our second full house of the season this week - 54 players enjoyed clear and calm conditions. Luis Nava and Justin Sikes enjoyed it a little more than most, shooting -16 for the win. Three teams tied at -1. Luis also aced hole 2 and grabbing the $52 ace pot. There was much speculation that hole 7 in the short position would be aced several times, but although it gave up a lot of birdies (38), nobody could get the ace to stick. Course tweaks:
Hole 1 - long teepad (about 60' behind regular pad). 27 birdies, 26 pars, and one bogey.
Hole 5 - long teepad, long basket position. 6 birdies, 46 pars, and 2 bogies.
Hole 7 - short position. 38 birdies, 15 pars, and one bogey.
Hole 8 - short position. 46 birdies, 8 pars.
Hole 9 - island green. A little wider circle than in earlier weeks, with a closer drop zone. 35 birdies, 7 pars, and 12 bogies.

Week 3

Course tweaks:
Hole 5: Basket moved to long position; temporary tee pad near the original location.
Hole 7: Basket moved back to the long position.
Hole 9: No island. Tee off from Hole 5 tee pad. This one didn't bother players much at all - lots of birdies and no bogies.

Week 2

Brody Cannon and Jamie Brown dominated the wind to shoot -16 and take first place on a clear and windy night tonight. We had 52 players this week. No Aces were hit, so our ace pot will start at $102 next week. With another full week, the ace pot will be over $150 for week 3. We had a few tweaks this week:
Hole 5 moved to short position. This was an easy one - 31 birds.
Hole 6 - moved the pad way back. Didn't cause too many problems: 19 birds, 19 pars, and 4 bogeys.
Hole 7 moved to right position - 35 birds, 17 pars. Slightly easier than last week.

Happy Tuesday!

Congratulations to Steven Sines and Levi Filkins who shot -16 to take the first Tuesday Twos of the 2013 Season. We had a full house this week. Clear skies and wind in the first round but calm for the second half of the evening. Hole 9 was a hot topic of conversation this evening with a tight OB circle around the basket. Players either loved or hated this hole: There were 22 bogies, 7 pars, and 25 birdies. Eleven teams birdies it both times while six teams bogied both times. No ac ... more
