Hey guys! sooo I ended up losing one of my Z Nukes on hole 18 today (TUTTLE). I threw it high and ended up getting on a big annie and hit a tree that was close to the road. Went to look for it and somehow just disappeared! Looked in the tree for awhile and walked aroound as well, and no luck. It is red with a DIRTY DOZEN stamp. If you come across it please let me know! I cried a little because i couldn't find it lol.

I will most likely be late to the league today--Tuesday, April 30th. I should be there no later than 6pm, but if I am not, go ahead and divide into pairs and start playing. I can collect the money when all is finished.

Please get yourselves registered for "Break the Chains" it is THIS SATURDAY! Pre-registering makes my job LOTS EASIER, plus it WAY SPEEDS UP the time between the last round and the prizes being awarded!

I guess it's good that we have so many people at league that I am having trouble counting. Once I got home, I remembered that we did have two left-over chips when we drew for pairings. So I should have known we only had 19 players. Problem was I miscounted the money the first time around, so I had it in my head that we had 21 players. Sorry about the delay at the end. I was very confused for a few minutes! Anyway, all's well that ends well, and congrats to Ben and A.J. on the win tonight!

There is a possibility of Severe Weather tonight(April 9) at Doubles League. We do not yet have an official Severe Weather policy, but should probably discuss it tonight prior to league. If any of you have an opportunity to read this prior to league, hopefully it will get your gears turning prior to our conversation tonight.

Here are my suggestions:

If any of you have an opportunity to read this prior to league, hopefully it will get your gears turning prior to our conversation tonight.

Here are my suggestions:
* If there is a Severe Weather WATCH we go ahead and play. As a friend once said, Severe Weather WATCH just means you are in Kansas and it is Summer.
* If there is a Severe Weather WARNING just before or during a league round, we suspend and/or cancel play depending on the length of the WARNING.
* If there is NOT a WARNING, but you are concerned for you safety, you may either mark your lie and temporarily stop play, or drop out of the round for the evening. Please let your partner/group know about your decision

Since there is money involved, cancelling a doubles round is a little more complicated than cancelling a round at bag tag league. So...
* Rather than trying to issue refunds during a storm or trying to remember who all was there without collecting score cards, I suggest that we simply roll over the pot to the next week, making the prizes potentially twice as big the following week. I know this means some will not be back to play the next week, and some who come the second week only may "unfairly" benefit. However, this is the most simple and safe solution, and furthermore, to my memory, no round of doubles league has been cancelled for severe weather during the last 3 years. So this won't happen very often, if at all.

There continues to be some talk about out-of-towners "Ace Hunting" at Doubles League to score a big cash pot.

Hasn't happened recently, but some old-timers will tell the story of how a dark stranger drifted into town one dusty day, robbed everyone blind, then disappeared, never to be seen again...

I'm all for democracy, so I'll let the group decide on this one. Right now we hold back $10 for every $50 in the Ace Fund when someone gets a hole-in- ... more

I'm all for democracy, so I'll let the group decide on this one. Right now we hold back $10 for every $50 in the Ace Fund when someone gets a hole-in-one in order to replenish the fund more quickly.

In addition, we COULD hold back HALF of the fund if a First Time League Player hits an Ace. This wouldn't necessarily keep a Shark from coming to town for the Ace Fund, but it would prevent them from cleaning out the entire Ace Fund, should they be skilled and lucky enough to hit an Ace.

Great start to Doubles League last night with 15 players! The cold and wind only slowed us down a little. Here's what we decided to do with last year's Ace Fund:
$100 for Tuttle course improvements ...(RevKev will be responsible for distribution)
$50 for DFOK expenses associated with Warner leagues ...(Rick will be responsible for distribution)
$50 for (DFOK?) expenses associated with Tuttle league ...(RevKev will be responsible for distribution)
$47 carried over to 2013 Ace Fund
