ADGO Bag Tag tournament results

We had a total of 27 players make it out today. Thanks to everyone for coming out. We had awesome weather to go with a full day of disc golf. A big thanks to the ADGO for tossing an additional $174 into the payouts. The A Bracket was playing for a total purse of $358 Jon Plotky took home the #1 tag along with $175 JK finished with the #3 tag and took 2nd place cash with $90 Al Hause took 3rd place. Jon Plotky took home the #1 tag along with $175
JK finished with the #3 tag and took 2nd place cash with $90

10 people dropping into the B bracket sweeten that purse another $50 for a total of $140
Clunck won and took pocketed $70
Carl Williams brought his 'A' game and took 2nd place and $40
Carlos Rodriguez took 3rd place and won $20
Heath Gaylord was 4th with $10

Interestingly, the person holding the #1 tag lost in each of their challenges.

You must have your 2011 ADGO bag tag with you to play in this event

Bring something with you to eat. We will be moving as quickly as possible from round to round. There will not be time to “run to Subway”.

All 2011 ADGO bag tags are sold. There will not be day of signups. You cannot use the tag bag of someone who is unable to attend.

General OB rules
2 meter rule is not in effect.
Surrounded by water is OB.
Football field behind hole #3 basket and on the right by hole #4 is OB. This means inside the chain link fence.
Over the residential fences on holes 6, 12, 13, 14, 17 are OB. Do not retrieve your disc during your match.

1st round to start as soon as the brackets are set up and I can get everything rolling

Seeded brackets will be set up based on your current bag tag#. Generally the lowest tag will play highest tag, second lowest tag will play second highest tag, etc.

Each round is 9 holes of match play, except the finals. Finals for both A & B brackets will be 18 hole match play.
Once a player has won more holes, than there are holes remaining, the match is over. (e.g. If Player A has already won 4 holes with 3 holes remaining to be played, the match is over)

Do not turn in your tag when you arrive. Each match you play will be a match between yourself and your opponent. At the end of the challenge, swap bag tags (if applicable). It is the responsibility of the person who won the match to come report the results to me. I will need to verify each person’s bag tag# and the score (e.g. Player A – 4 holes; Player B – 3 holes).

Players who lose in the first round (or a play-in round) will have the opportunity to play in the B bracket. There will be a $5 additional charge per player, but this is added to the payout for this bracket.

I will add additional info concerning payout tomorrow. I would like to get a general idea of numbers to expect on Saturday. If you know you are attending, please either reply below or PM me.

From Atlanta: Take I-20 west towards Douglasville. Exit I-20 on Post Road (exit 30) just past Douglasville, and turn left (south). Proceed south several miles to the 4 way stop, and go right on Hwy 166. Proceed several miles and turn left on Jones Mill Road. (look for the BIG power lines across this intersection, and the sign for "Consolation Church"). Proceed on Jones Mill Rd about 3 miles to Consolation Church Road and turn left. Pass the church, the road turns to gravel, and turn left at Mailbox #254. Follow parking directions.

From Alabama: Take I-20 east towards Carrollton, GA. Exit right onto Hwy 61 and go south towards Carrollton. Proceed 6 miles or so and turn left onto Hwy 166 east at the traffic light (landmarks are Jordan's BBQ, and City Cafe at this intersection). Proceed east several miles on Hwy 166 and turn right on Jones Mill Road. (look for the BIG power lines across this intersection, and the sign for "Consolation Church"). Kelly Leggett has agreed to open the course for the day.
For those who have never played Flyboy, this means he has waived the normal $5 course fee. Flyboy is currently the #1 rated DG course in the US. When you play it, you will see why it received this rating. You will also realize it takes a lot more than a $5/person course fee for Kelly to maintain the course. Let's show our appreciation to him by placing some $'s in the donation jar in the hanger area.
Everyone will still need to sign a waiver form when they arrive. It is required to play the course.

VERY IMPORTANT: I need to give Kelly an approximate head count. Please send an email to me ([email disguise]) if you plan to attend. The sooner the better, but please let me know by the weekend before (e.g. by Aug 7). If your email address doesn’t clearly indicate who you are, please include your first & last name in the email.

Flyboy is a private course that winds throughout the neighborhood where Kelly (and many others) live. We need to be very respectful of that while on the course.
There is also an active runway. Everyone needs to be aware of possible plane landings or takeoffs while around that area. Planes have the right-of-way.
Prior to our start, either Kelly, Brad Orman, or one of the other Flyboy helpers will provide some basic rules concerning course conduct and getting our groups organized. Please be at the hanger by 8:15AM so you don't miss any of this.

The course is 27 holes, approx 17,000ft, and plays as a par 95. Plan on a 4-5 hour round. There will be some water on the course, but fill up your bottles before we start. Bring food to eat while on the course. There are 7 holes that have water in play. Bring a couple of extra discs (drivers) just in case.
NOTE: There are a few paths between holes that are not very cart friendly.

We will have a shotgun start as close to 9AM as possible.
Groupings will be based on each person’s bag tag ranking at that time.

Kelly indicated they will provide an after-round lunch for everyone. It will include a sandwich, chips, and a drink. Cost will be $5.

Kelly has a Bed & Breakfast (in the hangar), as well as indoor & outdoor camping available for those who prefer to drive there Saturday. Hot showers are available to campers. Verify the pricing and availability with Kelly, but I believe he indicated the following
• Bed & Breakfast = $65 per night
• Indoor camping – in the Trading Post = $15 per night
• Outdoor camping - in the grass by the hanger = $10 per night

To restate the importance of our conduct while playing Flyboy:
Flyboy is a private course that winds throughout the neighborhood where Kelly (and many others) live. We need to be very respectful of that while on the course. Plan to pack your trash out with you. Be aware that other homeowners may be around you at any point during play. This is their property. Thank them for allowing us to use it.
