This course is located in a wonderful park on ideal disc golf land (rolling hills, grass fairways, large trees). The baskets are brand new and the course flows very well. Practice basket and all the other amenities (including pavilion, dog park, playground, heated/AC bathrooms) are provided here. Course is also great for glow golf.

Layout has been updated and significantly improved. Long tees have also been added. New layout removes most of the boring straight 300-400 foot shots and creates better shot-shaping lines. Hole 8 is now the signature hole, a 400+ downhill crush from the longs with a low ceiling.

I suggest if you have only played the old layout to print a map of the new adjustments, i could see navigation being difficult. New layout removes water holes, but they were not missed during my round. For a course that has no tee-pads (yet) i'm surprised the roads are not utilized more as pseudo tee-pads (esp on hole 1 long and hole 9 long). No distances from the longs yet.

Feeling good about the courses in Summit County. With Wingfoot and Hudson getting upgraded and Portage Lakes getting better every day Akron area disc golf has never been better. Cheers to all those involved!


OLD REVIEW: D+

My gripe is that for the quality of the land, the design of the course is very under par. Straight, wide open 300-400 shots bore me, and this course has 3-4 of them. All 18 holes here are reachable for an Advanced player (not me, but it can be done), making it more of a beginner friendly course. The disc golf course itself was built in high park traffic areas. The hole layouts are generally wide open with little accuracy required off the tee. No tee pads (normally not much of a big deal unless muddy). No holes over 500ft. And no holes giving you options...."hmm should i through it forehand, backhand or overhand." For being the closest course to me, I play this one the least.

This is not to take away from the work that is being done here. It is my understanding long tees are being developed, and the course maintenance is always immaculate. But, in my opinion this course should not be in the top 20 of Ohio as this site suggests.

Many technical holes involving elevation changes, pins on slopes, low ceilings, and doglegs in both directions. I have heard grumblings of tee signs too close to tee boxes, and while this is true, my understanding is that they're being moved this week, and they didn't bother me anyway.
