Winget Park

As course director, my review may be somewhat biased. Course opened January 2012 and was used for the Advanced Am Men (MA1) at the 2012 PDGA World's. Although a relatively short course, it is wooded and technical with a par of 57; the 281 MA1 players during the World's average 55.85; the course surprised many. As course director, my review may be somewhat biased. Course opened January 2012 and was used for the Advanced Am Men (MA1) at the 2012 PDGA World's. Although a relatively short course, it is wooded and technical with a par of 57; the 281 MA1 players during the World's average 55.85; the course surprised many. If you hit your lines there is a birdie on every hole, few had a lot of success. The three short par 4 holes (380', 318', and 371') all averaged about 4.

The course is in a neat (almost) eerie historical setting of the ruins of a mid 1800's plantation. The park is probably one of the safest one in Charlotte and nestled into a suburban setting.

A good one-day two courser--play a round (and be humbled) at Renny Gold and a more relaxing round at Plantation Ruins (Winget Park); they are about 8 miles apart. I almost assure you that you will revisit Winget the next time you are in Charlotte for a fun, relaxing experience.
