+6Jon Tveite 60 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "It was too nice not to play on the second day of daylight saving time. I started out all right, but eventually got a little too wild for Warner. Caught trees off the tees on #s 5, 6, 7, & 8, which cost me three strokes to par, then had a good drive on #9 before my short approach flick landed under the basket and rolled into the trees behind it. I followed that with a couple more bogeys and then steadied the ship. #4 was the only hole I had dialed in, as a couple of hyzer Wizards yielded easy birdies."

+5Dustin Harrison 32 - Random 9 (mix of long & short), 9 holes "not a bad day out, fairly decent temperatures (for December) but there was quite a bit of wind, didn't have the good drives on the wooded holes that i could have used to help my score out & made a pretty sweet birdie on hole 7 that the wind moved around while it was in flight"

+9Jon Tveite 63 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "It was very warm and windy, but the wind probably only cost me 3-4 shots. Overall, I didn't throw that badly, but made a handful of lousy shots that were very costly. Making three double-bogeys in a row is never helpful. It took 17 holes, but I finally did get a birdie on #8 (after taking a five on it the first time). It would nice to have more than just the weekends to work on my game."

+1Jon Tveite 28 - Random 9 (mix of long & short), 9 holes "Had just enough time for a very up-and-down nine before dark. Followed up a decent drive on #1 by smacking my approach into the nearest tree I could find, then hit another tree with my third shot, but saved a bogey with a good putt. #2, very similar story. I hit the base of the pipe with a Buzzz for an easy deuce on #4. Caught a tree off the tee and wound up in a bad place on #5, but made three good shots after that. Made good birdie putts on #7 & #8 to get back to even par. Bad approach led to 35' face-mask putt and a disappointing finish on #9."

+3Jon Tveite 57 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "I had another free evening, so I thought I'd see if I could improve on the previous night's mediocrity. I did, but not by much. The weather was a little chillier, but that wasn't much of a factor. I did throw better, and even managed to birdie holes that weren't #7 (#4, #8), but still had some wild shots (#2, #5) that cost me big-time. I am working on my motion, but not working very hard at it, and it's hurting my scores. My putting has been pretty solid, though. #1 & #2 are killing me (I have been +8 on those two holes this week, and even on all the rest). My tee shots on #1 haven't been that bad; I just seem to be catching that first tree in the gap and falling straight down, leaving a long and difficult approach through the trees."

+5Jon Tveite 59 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "The weather was great, so I went out for a quick round before dark. I played all right except for #1 & #2. Actually, I hadn't played much for a while, I wasn't playing that well before my break, and so it's no surprise that I just wasn't very consistent off the tee. I birdied #7 twice, but couldn't come anywhere close to birdies on #4 (short right) or #8."

+3Jon Tveite 30 - Random 9 (mix of long & short), 9 holes "Bad bounce off a tree on #1 = bogey. Botched 20' putt on #5, bogey. I managed a bird on #7, but missed very makeable putts on #2 & #8. On #9, I pulled my drive into the trees way right and had to struggle for a five. My timing and concentration just aren't what they need to be right now."

-2Jon Tveite 25 - Random 9 (mix of long & short), 9 holes "I played a little better after my week-and-a-half break, probably because I told myself I wasn't going to rush to get 18 holes in. Started out with a good tee shot that glanced off trees and ended up about 25' southwest of the basket on #1, followed by a solid putt from there. After that it was all decent tee shots and mistake-free approaches for pars until #8, where I released my Roc a little low and right, but it skimmed the light vegetation and stopped 10' short of the target. Most memorable hole was long #9, where I had a great drive to about 100' out and then hit the top half of the cage with my putt (just missing my first birdie on that one). The course was in pretty good shape despite all the rain, just a little muddy in spots."

EJon Tveite 27 - Long pins, 9 holes "Very balanced round, with equal numbers of bogeys, birdies, and pars resulting from good, bad, and in-between drives, approaches, and putts. All the birdies were from 10' or less. #3 started with a crazy drive pulled so far to the right I thought it might end up in the trees between #4 & #7 fairways. #5 was a bad drive followed by a worse approach (pulled it into the woods for no reason) and then a blind tomahawk that hit the basket. #9 was pretty well played until I missed a 12' par putt."

+5Jon Tveite 59 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "Another late-evening round with a lot of lapses in concentration, probably because I was rushing to get done. I was also trying out a few new discs, including a Gateway Magic putter, which may have had something to do with short par putts missed on #4 & #5. The real problem was #2 again, where I seem unable to hit the tunnel or make good recoveries from the woods. And #5 was much the same: caught some trees off the tee and couldn't get down in two from long distance. Birdies on #7 & #8 were pretty routine."

+3Jon Tveite 57 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "Ugh. This was an ugly excursion. I was rushing to get done before total darkness, and I just didn't concentrate consistently. I had some really good shots, but too many costly bad ones, especially on #2, #5, & #6, where I couldn't manage one par in six tries. Just missed a handful of putts, some for par and some for birdie, so it wouldn't have taken much for this to be a decent round. But it just wasn't."

+1Jon Tveite 55 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "I hadn't played Warner for a while, so I headed out, fairly late. I started out boring, with par after par, until I let go too early on #8 and found myself in the trees. I still could have saved par with a good 25-foot putt, but no dice. The sun had just gone down, but the course was pretty empty and I figured I could make it around again. This trip was more interesting. Started with a tough kick that led to bogey on #1. On #2, I found myself right beside the short basket placement, which turns out to be a tough approach to the long because of trees in the way, but I laid out a big anhyzer with my Wedge and skipped it off the rim of the basket. Then I made an obstructed birdie putt from the first row of trees on #3, and followed up by landing a big, high hyzer with my Wizard about three feet from #4. I caught a branch off the tee on #5, and wound up taking a five, which I followed up with a senseless bogey on #6 (bad approach). Then I made a couple more birdies, thanks to a high anhyzer putt on #7, and a 45'-foot anhyzer flick from the tree line on #8. By that time, it was too dark too see, but I decided to play to the practice basket and bounced my drive off the shelter, which probably made it easier to find, because I heard the impact."

+1Jon Tveite 28 - Long pins, 9 holes "I went out to play a very casual 9 holes with a friend from out of town who's not too serious about disc golf (but a good enough sport to play along with me). Then I casually threw my first three shots into rocks and trees, leaving myself about a 25-30' putt for bogey on #1, which I missed. After that, I played a little better, but not great, hitting the cage with a very make-able birdie putt on #2, and missing a short though tree-troubled par putt on #4. At least I finished well, making birdies on #7 & #8, and then saving a good par on #9 after a drive that left me right up against the treeline about 125' around the corner from the basket."

-2Jon Tveite 52 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "Pretty good round, but I should have been 5 or 6 down, as I just barely missed 4 putts inside of 25'. Started out with a birdie on #1, on a tee shot that ended up 15' right of the basket. Short #2 is one of the holes I should have birdied (especially the second time) but didn't. On #3 I had two wild tee shots but good up-shots to save pars. On #6 I teed off with a couple of good Blizzard Katana Z-curves to the left placement; the first time it ended up 10' short for an easy bird, and on the second I hit the chain ring from about 20' out. I parked it on my second try at #7 after coming up way short on the first. On #8 I hit trees on left, made a good flick recovery, but missed a short stretch putt for par; second time I thought I had left it in the trees again, but found my Wizard next to the basket. On short #9 I just missed a 25-footer for birdie, then pulled it way right deep into the woods on the long finisher, but blasted out and saved a great bogey with a nice flick along the treeline."

+1Jon Tveite 55 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "It was still daylight when I got back to Manhattan, so I thought I would give Warner a try with the same 5 discs I used on my trip. I was pretty tired by this point, and it was still hot and sticky, but I played okay -- about average for me at Warner, I suppose. I had some good holes and some really bad ones, going +2 on #2 (short) and #8 combined (four lousy tee shots), and throwing into the tree line on #9, leading to a double bogey. On the bright side, I made about a 40' putt for birdie on #4 (left position), and put my tee shots 15-20' away on #7 and short #9 (which I played last). I may have done better with a full bag of discs, but then again, maybe not."

EDimond Cutter 54 - Long and Short pins, 18 holes "Casual round with Daisuke and Rick jumped in for a few holes too. I never got into much trouble all day until the the last hole. I put my drive behind the tree next to tee pad #1 and threw an ill-advised tomahawk to try and save par. It was really difficult to plant on my right leg to get any type of power throw as my back was not responding favorably to any attempt at power. Perhaps this is why I controlled my drives a little better and I stayed straight for the most part. It was nice to be back out there after almost two weeks off. Time to get serious about letting my back heal.."
