The Highlands of Conway

While vacationing in the Berkshires I had a chance to hit up Maple Hill. Great course and enjoyed my round of the whites and reds. While vacationing in the Berkshires I had a chance to hit up Maple Hill. Great course and enjoyed my round of the whites and reds. In speaking with Dave he mentioned the Highlands and said it was "old school". Not really sure what that meant but if Dave thought it was worth visiting then I was in. Man, what a beautiful course. Yes, old school, but I would use the word "mature". Well defined lanes and signage. Threw multiple discs because the course was challenging me to be more exact with my throws. Caught up with a couple locals and they were gracious and warm. Be sure to check out the tree canopy over tee 7, just awe inspiring. For anyone who wants to play a very enjoyable round (albeit a little climbing) this is the course for you. I'll be back!

Well to start its not sedan friendly, the access road to the course is a bit rough to get to the parking area. This course cost $5 bucks to play. Access to the first tee is a hike so make sure you have hiking shoes to play this course. The tee boxes need to be improved because it makes some of the throws very difficult and scoring well is impacted. The signs are good throughout the course. The tee boxes need to be improved because it makes some of the throws very difficult and scoring well is impacted. The signs are good throughout the course. The holes are reasonably open and fun, except hole 12 and 13. The infamous hole 12, you are throwing up a hill and there is a hill to the left if you don't get to the top or if you hit a tree on your throw you may need to hike down a "BIG" hill and back up. Hole 13 had thick weeds throughout and the landing area was not in good enough shape to play it because there is poison ivy in the fairway. Overall not a bad course and the biggest improvement that could be made is good tee boxes. The owner should buy some materials and put a calling out to get some help building tee boxes, it would make this an A course even with Hole 12 as is.
