The parking lot for the world's is identified with Spinski's Parking and a PDGA banner.

Hoping to head up tomorrow morning (Friday 7/10) to practice for Worlds. Are the courses open for play? I remember reading somewhere that it is open for practice, but now I cannot find that post. I just want to make sure we have permission to be there! Thanks for all you do!!

Fred Vocino   July 9 at 9:51pm

It has been open virtually all the time lately. Fridays worked well for me and some others. Cross your fingers, so you find someone who knows the course. Remember to make the 5$ donation (in box under pavillion) and enjoy?

Douglas Fresh    July 5 at 8:56pm

On hole 6 (island hole): lost a white KC Pro Roc with 2015 Firefighter's Classic stamp with my name, PDGA #, and 2 aces on the bottom. Reward if found!

Can anyone let me know if the course will be open for practice rounds this Friday 6/26? If it is open do I need to contact anyone beforehand or just leave my $$ in the donation box? I am hoping to get there around 9:00 AM. It will be my first time here so any info is greatly appreciated.

Course will be open then Shane, Just come on in. Drive all the way to the back down the driveway past the hous to the pavillion. That is where the donations box is. Pro course hole 1 tee-pad is in the woods heading slightly northeast from the front of the pavillion and the original course hole 1 tee -pad is in a slight northwest(left) direction from the front of the pavillion at the top of the hil

Shane Brayton   June 22 at 7:00pm

Thanks a lot Niel! I cannot wait to check it out.

Joe Rutkowski    June 22 at 10:25am

Looking to get some practice in for Worlds on Saturday morning. Will I have any problems teeing off at 9am? It's a haul from South Bend so I just want to make sure my bases are covered. Thanks!

Never, i do have a friend from Grand Rapids area that has lined up a local to walk the course with us though.

Niel Stoppa II   June 24 at 12:03pm

Oh ok, then you should be fine. They are very easy to negotiate anyways. Just knowing where hole 1 tee-pad is for the pro course is really the only hurdle

Niel Stoppa II   June 24 at 12:05pm

If your at the front of the pavillion its on a slight right angle into the woods. you cross hole 1's fairway as you are getting into the opening where the pavillion is

Fred Vocino    June 17 at 7:51pm

Some friends from SE Mi and I were planning on playing the original course on Friday morning. We appreciate the full opening for AM Worlds practice, and thought that some heads-up would be appropriate.

k...donations box in pavilion (^_^)

Fred Vocino   June 18 at 12:21pm

Of course...

Fred Vocino    June 15 at 8:17pm

I am ready to upload a load of pics for the TWO COURSES ( ORIGINAL-18, AND CHAMPION 18). If updating the info page to reflect those two courses for the AM Worlds is not within the technical capacity of present administrators I would be glad to have temporary admin-access, or I will load them into the present page and leave the sorting out for others.

Please contact Niel Stoppa if he hasn't responded to you as of yet. He will be able to help you with the brief yet exhausting efforts of last week Thursday. Thank you for walking with us.

Fred Vocino   June 18 at 12:26pm

Niel was helpful and Pete Crist made the course name approval easy. Now to finish the photo uploads.

I lost a purple mvp and a yellow acerace disk on the pro course thursday. on a side noteTo what randy said be respectful to the course a lot of people work hard to make it nice. I enjoy going somewhere to play and playing with some of the best in the state. The upgrades to the course are awesome. I have lots of room for improvement.

FYI for those of you who are not "regulars" to Spinski's. It is a private course, meaning the upkeep of the course costs money that does not come out of tax payers pockets. When you play, you pay.
Also, when you find a disc, there is a locked box that sits in the shelter with a slot to put found discs so they can be returned to their rightful owners. The long standing rule of the course is that when you find a disc you put it in the box. Those found to have stolen a disc are banned from playing the course.

I hope to be there for league play tomorrow. This would be the time I take pics to put up on the DGS course info page. As the folks looking for some remote view of the courses in advance of AM Worlds will be expecting the courses to be described as "original" and "championship", I will help if the person authorized to edit the course page revises the "info" page to show the 2 courses by those titles. It would also help to see the hole distances so I can show those on the pics.

If you use udisc android app you can map the course using GPS plot points for teepad, bend-point, basket which will give you decent distances and let future players utilize the mapping. another option is enable GPS tagging on your phone and the pictures will automagically have GPS that you can use for distances

Fred Vocino   June 10 at 6:53pm

Wow...I am behind the times, though: flip-phone and android tablet. I will check out app store anyway.

Dave Davies   May 15 at 9:56pm

Not at all. I will definitely get some more pictures once the pads are in and post them up on a new album

Niel Stoppa II   May 17 at 8:58pm

Love the Pics Dave!! Cant wait to see some with tee-pads and leaves on the trees.

Does anyone know the schedule for the league here? Looking to play the Championship course on the league day. Didn't know if you have to play the course for leagues or what.

Rick Marritt   May 12 at 9:05pm

We play league on Thursday with sign in from 4-6, but not out on the championship course until it dries up a little more. I will talk with Jon on Thursday & get you more info. There is a$5 pay to play for those that show up out there to play.

Dave Davies   May 12 at 10:02pm

I played it a couple weeks ago and plan on going back this week to check it out again. Jon seemed pretty open to us playing as long as we make the $5 per player donation for course maintenance.

Simon Porritt    April 27 at 1:45pm

Just checking to see if the course is open for worlds practice at this time, planning a trip to the area tomorrow? Thanks!

Dave Davies   April 27 at 3:05pm

If you are planning on hitting multple courses, there are leagues at Oshtemo starting around 4 and the course gets pretty packed. Also Spinski's has a league you can probably pay the daily fee to run the course with someone if you have trouble tomorrow.

Dave Davies   April 27 at 3:06pm

Spinki's league is thursdays, Oshtemo Tuesday, ViRA Monday, Coldbrook Thurs I think. Three Rivers should be easy to play any time

Simon Porritt   April 27 at 4:23pm

Thank You!

Fred Vocino    April 5 at 7:45pm

Its been more than two years since I played and reviewed the original course. Now that droves of players (and me) will be coming to practice and play in the World AMs courses, I have a renewed interest in Spinski's. Showing the playing opportunities on the Events tab will help. Where the Original course is slated for the 60+ and junior divisions I am eager to revise my 2012 review with reflections on the survive-ability of the course. To help give a sporting lift to our out-of-state friends I'd be happy to fill the blanks with a decent set of pics for both courses.

I have to "own" some of the "scary" impressions people will have when looking at this course page. The page administrators might avoid confusion by resolving the stated "One course-36 holes" with the PDGA's notice of an "Original" and "Champion" course.
