Southwoods Park

This is a hard course to throw. Most of the holes are hardly clear to drive unless you are dead accurate and don't mind trading optimum lines for a cleaner lie in the narrow mown paths. The first three holes are down and back up steep hills with "native prairie grass" clogging the majority of the fairway. The fourth hole is a tree clogged short shot along the dirt path to hole five. Five is straight and narrow, and mown. Six is a long ass two stage shot with a heavily wooded creek in the middle. I may have my hole count off a bit, but the point is, there's lots of obstacles and it requires a deft touch to avoid spending half your time in the pucker brush chasing discs. But it gets a solid B because it is freaking beautiful. Wild flowers all over. Beautiful woods, flowing streams, rolling hills and all that. If you weren't so frustrated with awful throws, you could just soak up the scenery and fall in love with the park.
