Public course? I planned on coming up today to try out the course and wanted to make sure I didn't have to ask permission first!

I have never played this course but it looks interesting. Does it have concrete T-pads yet?

Thanks! Sounds pretty good. I prefer concrete as it holds a plant foot better, have slipped a few times on other surfaces. At least a basic hard pack (and not some goofy rubber or plastic sheet) might not be too bad. Hopefully I can find some time next week after the holiday to try it out.

Craig Prime   July 1, 2020 at 3:47pm

I agree and the big arm players really like concrete over the diamond dust. These are indeed way better than rubber, plastic, asphalt or just lumpy natural pads. The course almost always adds new material every year but with things the way they've been, a few projects got delayed

try and make the tournament at Old Airport on July 18th

Craig Prime    March 24, 2020 at 2:56pm

The City of AuGres has restricted all activites and park use until after April 13th as per the Govenor's Shelter Order. The City Manager has stated that disc golfers will be allowed to use Old Airport if in SMALL GROUPS AND PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING AND COMMON SENSE. following this suggestion is pretty simple and DOES NOT infringe on anything or anyone - just a suggestion that may save someone that you love. LET'S ALL SET A POSITIVE EXAMPLE

Hey Craig. Heading up to play on Thursday. Course is in decent condition?

Craig Prime   October 9, 2019 at 4:13pm

yes, the course is in decent condition, cut and groomed with a new pavilion for your comfort if it rains or is too sunny. What time are you playing ? I can post a note and maybe you'll have a local or two show up to join in.

Chris Thorsgard    July 15, 2019 at 1:21am

Played a couple rounds today and I'm in love with this course. The owner is super nice. Didn't get to ask his name but he came out and talked to us for a minute.

Don't miss the opportunity to play on this beautiful property! Whoever the owner is, thank you!!

Ron Peludat is the guy we can thank and call Groundskeeper Ron. He designed and built the course over the past few years. He is a great guy and also loves the place - thanks for the compliment. Glad that you enjoyed it and if you can leave any reviews , that would be appreciated. The course and property is City owned, they take care of the disc golfers and visitors to AuGres.

Craig Prime    April 8, 2019 at 9:59pm

this is the type of reviews that Old Airport Disc Golf Course gets from out of town visitors - visit the course soon
A+
Very well maintained course! Amateur and pro pars. Love this course! Worth the drive! Good mix of short and long range shots. Dirt pads, but well maintained. I actually prefer them over cement pads." "Bruce Bordeaux › May 18, 2017

whats the poison ivy situation? still a mess?

Craig Prime   June 29, 2018 at 11:50am

not sure when you were there but there probably is still poison ivy outside the cut fairways in some spots. Hole 1 has had some in the rough along the right side. Seriously, I've never had any reaction from any over several years of playing and grooming the course. Keep it in the fairway and you should be good. Get off the fairway, keep your eyes open.

Brett Federspiel   June 29, 2018 at 8:59pm

thanks. Im fairly susceptible to th stuff, but I've played the course and I love it. The whole poison ivy thing drives me away, but Ill have to give it a shot. Thanks for the input

Craig Prime   June 30, 2018 at 1:47pm

I hear ya. The city does a great job keeping it cut, having the porta john available and making sure that mosquito spray happens but we haven't attacked any of those pesky poison plants. good luck and enjoy

James Keller    April 29, 2018 at 12:05am

thinking of coming down from Alpena for tomorrow league. Is it wet out there and are there going to be players so it is wreath the travail.

Craig Prime   April 29, 2018 at 11:30am

last week there was some water on hole 1 & 2 fairway and maybe hole 7, but I expect that it's fairly cleared up and not too bad. Still, water proof shoes and watching where you walk should solve any issues. There will be people there to take money and run leagues at noon. have fun

Craig Prime   April 29, 2018 at 12:06pm

Jason will be at leagues and said this - Leagues start tomorrow, bring boots and extra socks. We will have ctps and the bag tags will be handed out. Hope to see you there!

our random draw dubs ended two weeks back. There may be players out there willing to get a dubs match going, weather wise Saturday is the pick day. Go to facebook and post something in Old Airport's page or Tri City Disc golf - someone will probably answer

Craig Prime   May 18, 2017 at 5:58pm

unfortunately, no retailers of discs in Au Gres. Occasionally there is a seller of used stuff at the course

Anyone know the conditions of this course lately? I know it has rained a little so just wondering if there are any holes we should look out for? Thinking of playing there tomorrow?
