North Eco Park

Played there today... so many broken glass bottles and so many beer cans. Has such potential as a great course but if people don't take care of it, we'll lose it.

DiscGolfers, I just got an email from the Parks Dept regarding alcohol consumption on the course. I asked them if they could mow the field holes as it was getting overgrown. They replied that they started to mow, but after the fifth glass beer bottle they had to stop. PLEASE refrain from taking alcohol out to the course. This is a city park and as such, alcohol is prohibited. Also, please make sure anything you take out there with you gets packed out as well. I want the parks dept to li ... more

@Beast; Sounds good, lemme know next time you're headed up there. Hole 11 would be a pretty awesome ace, I don't think anyone's hit that one yet.

Played North Eco Park today on my way home from portland. Good work on layout. Long walk to first tee but that's ok, builds anticipation. I came sooooooo close to an ACE on # 11 with a terminator:) Ryan I will take a rain check on that tour offer ok? Would like to play a round with you and chat GreensKeeper to GreensKeeper:)

Beast,
The parking lot for Eco Park is where to park. The disc golf course in 1/3 mile north of that on the Logging Road (paved walking trail) You walk up it until you pass the waste water plant on the right, then the course is on the right, can't miss hole 1! We're going to get the signage up soon for the parking lot, we've been trying to do the "heavy lifting" work first! :)
Once you're to hole one you should be home free as the temporary signage on the course is pretty good, and the walkouts are also labeled. PM me if you want a tour!

Is there signage posted to help out of towners find this course? I drove down territorial on my way home from work last week and had no idea where to go from there.

Discers:
PLEASE abide by the "No Alcohol" rule on the course! The Park Dept has already talked to me about this as people are leaving their beer cans and bottle all over the course. Please clean up after yourself, and if you see anyone else's trash, pick it up as well! We need to be good stewards of the opportunity we've been given!
Thanks a ton!

Disc Golfers; Work Party Saturday! The weather is getting nicer and the underbrush is starting to fill in. We need to get those fairways finished before Spring is in full session! Here’s what’s on the agenda for Saturday: - Finish cutting and clearing hole 12 - Assemble and install the three field holes (7, 8, 9) - Install sleeves for practice basket and hole 12 - Continued clearing on hole 10 (current 7) - Brush mowing on hole 12, as well as 5, 8 and 9 If we get that done, ... more

Feel free to head out and play the course but keep in mind that it is still UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I suggest holding off on reviewing the course until May when it's finished, please. 8 of the 12 baskets are currently installed and there are temporary tees and temp signage to guide you through. The course is designed with the beginner/intermediate golfer in mind, so all of the holes are very short, around the 220' to 280' range. However, the course is fairly technical with some dog legs and some ... more
The D.O.R.C.s league encourages players to pick up trash you find wile playing. Maybe DGB could try that?
