I like this course. The ones in the woods are a nice change.

Pros: Course was well maintained and well groomed. Large white poles with distance to target at all tees were very visible. Campus was beautiful.

Cons: No typical signage. No Tee pads. No benches. Course was short. No signs to tell you where to start, or denoting that there was even a course there at all.

Overall: A pleasant outing. The campus in the background was gorgeous, but the course itself was plain. It felt cramped. There were several holes that felt like they were there only to fill in space.

First basket is always wet, other than that it's a very nice course.

A nice course with a variety of shots and terrain. Holes 5-10 are wide open and don't offer any shade but holes 15-17 are all wooded. Course has not been maintained in a while with Hole 4 almost unplayable.

Pretty soggy on a couple holes. The pads are dirt but still easy to T off. The course has a variety of open and wooded shots. Great for beginners and intermediate players.

The course is fairly open with about 2/3 of the holes in a field and the rest being in the woods. Distances for holes are pretty short On the front 9 there are quite a few unobstructed, open field shots which make the course seem rather boring. Play picks up on the back 9 though with a few interesting wooded shots through tree lines ...

Montevallo is a fun course to play. I really enjoy playing the holes in the woods. You really have to make some good shots to post a good score.
