Matthew Hull 54 - Regular tees, 18 holes "It's been a long time but I finally got back out to Miami U. in Oxford thanks to a little prodding by my friend Michael S. And this is a course I really would love to play more often too! It has a fantastic blend of wooded holes with low ceilings (better throw straight!), curved holes that require a variety of shots, super fun downhill tosses, and a few that even involve water hazards! It's funny too because, while my accuracy was off tonight (*especially* on some of my drives), my upshots and especially my putting saved the round for me. I made several putts in the 15-20 ft. range and thankfully, I had just enough solid drives to give me my best score at this course (previous record was a 59). My Sword toss on the narrow #4 along with a splattering of Blue Bomber Buzz throws late helped me to snag some sweet birdies! I love the way I played down the stretch tonight. Thankfully, my Roadrunner toss on #16 didn't go into the water (it turned nicely but then it didn't hold the turn and narrowly missed the drink). That would have been a TOUGH disc to find! Whew!"

Matthew Hull 59 - Regular tees, 18 holes "How about that? Two weekends in a row my friend Michael S. and I went to a course I had never played before! Miami U. - Oxford is a beautiful course too as it is located just behind the Art Museum on campus and it has a pleasant atmosphere and features some truly unique holes! The new signs look superb and I can tell that the local disc golf community has really given this course some TLC because it has a really "clean" feel to it. The only knock I can really think of is they don't have concrete tee pads yet (just "dirt" tee pads) but otherwise, this is a top-notch course! For the most part, I played it relatively safe and I actually found myself throwing my Falcon Servo more than any other driver! My lone deuce of the afternoon was thanks to my Servo hitting the most beautiful hyzer line on Hole #5. A few more throws like that and I'll be in business! My Blue Bomber Buzzz was a bit off for some reason and most of the holes are in the 220-230 ft. range which makes for some really fun Ace run opportunities! At the same time, there are a lot of technical holes that involve tunnel shots, smooth hyzer lines where you need your disc(s) to fade *exactly* at the right moment, and several blind shots that are relatively short but tricky nonetheless. My putting was just okay today as I missed a couple bunnies (10-15 ft.) but overall, it was a decent round I can build on for sure. I even threw my Star Spider on one of the short holes with trees in the way and lying on a hill. Speaking of hills, Hole #10 I believe is a gorgeous downhill hole that is 355 ft. long where you can just chuck a disc and watch it go! That might be my favorite hole here. In any case, we had a great time despite having to look for a few BAD throws from the two of us."
