Ira is an interesting course to rate. Holes 1 is the best hole on the course. 2 and 3 are good designs. 4 through 7 is pretty blah with 7 being an absolute travesty. You can see it is set up for a hard flex shot but there is no way to get the angle because of the overhang that was left directly in front of the pad. 8 through 12 are fun little technical shots. Baskets are nice yellow MVP portals and the signage and navigation are adequate. Wouldn't go out of my way to play here again but I did truly enjoy bag dumping on 8-12.

Nice short course with some wooded and open shots. Cart friendly, though you don't really need a full bag here, course is pretty short. Slower discs are premium for the wooded shots and there's only maybe 3 shots over 350' and 2 are wide open. Took a minute to find hole 1, it's behind the fire station by the cell phone tower. 9 Buckets 18 tees, shorts and longs. This course has sentimental value for me as it was the first course I've ever played. I had no clue what I was doing and probably spent most of the time in the woods. Now that I'm better this is one of my favorites. My only complaints are these: need cement tee pads, two sets of chains (the baskets were fine just need chains), and more than just par 3's. All baskets are unbroken, but they seem to be a little higher poking out of the ground than my home course (Holland Woods). The "Jesus Thorn" trees are brutal and if you lose a disc, look up! Those thorn trees catch, grab, and hold anything they can grab. I shook the trees to get mine. Also, on Hole 3 have a spotter for driving, the canopy you throw into is almost solid, and a disc can easily stray off the course. Holes 7, 8, and 9 are the best---- but every tee box is lumpy with mulch, and you can have a hard time finding your footing while driving.

Plenty of signage with direction, distance, and maps.

If you are a county resident, the library down the street will let you borrow a disc with your library card. They'll have extra scorecards too.

CONS:
Only 9 holes
A pro and a con. It will keep the crowds down for the locals but many players will only travel far for courses with at least 18 holes. Duel tees will at least help make it worth the drive.

Natural and Woodchip Tees
Not trying to be picky but concrete tees are the standard these days (yeah, we've been spoiled by other courses in the area)
but the course was planned to have that rustic / vintage look anyways. The boxed-in woodchip tees (SHORTS) for the beginners and natural tees (LONGS) keep it that way.

THORNS
Seriously, just keep your discs on the fairways. I helped build this course and the thorns we had to deal with on holes 3-5 almost drove me insane so keep your eyes peeled for the hidden dangers in the rough. Most of the thorns have been removed and used for a protective barrier near the park's property line.

Water near Out of Bounds
Technically the course doesn't play over or around a creek or lake but half the course is on heavy clay land so be cautious during the wet seasons. Course design was tweaked this spring to avoid most issues on fairways/tees/greens.

You do throw over some small creeks to keep it interesting. A larger creek flows nearby on the hiking trails. The water-tower in the middle of the park is also somewhat drained periodically.
