Mike, it's not closed yet. The construction was delayed due to the rain yesterday. I'm waiting on a call from the park to make the announcement.

Just a reminder: The concrete pads are being installed this week. THE COURSE IS CLOSED. I will be sure to let everyone know when it is reopened, in all of it's concreted glory

Plus the winds won't be in full effect until mid November. Why on earth would you want to play the Picnic with anything less than 30 MPH winds?

One bad apple ruins the bunch. Lesson to be learned here: don't be an ****.

Course goes in full time November 15th. Same thing as last year. Too many incidents and accidents with the nature class and picnicers.

did i read that right? the picnic course baskets are going in for the weekend of Coop finale and union strikes but will be pulled for two weeks only to be re-installed 2-3 weeks later. what is the reasoning for this? are they worried about hitting sungazers around the beach?

I went out with the park staff this morning and outlined all 18 black tees with orange marking paint. Please do your best to not disturb the paint as it needs to stay there until Tuesday when they start to dig the concrete. Getting closer...

Teepads on the Chuck D are scheduled to be installed starting Tuesday, September 28th. Course will be closed during construction. Let's hope that everything stays on schedule..

I lost a Pink Champ Katana on hole 11 on September 6. Had my info on it. I guess it's gone by now.

Brian Machemer, Superintendent of Indy Lake, wanted me to thank all of the disc golfers who have made Independence Lake such a beautiful place to disc golf. The 101 and Washtenaw County Parks couldn't be happier to provide such a unique and pristine place to play. Brian has asked me to inform the disc golf community that the park will be closing at dusk (which is a time that is constantly in flux), instead of 9 pm. Please respect the park and its employees by finishing your rounds with enough time to exit the park by the time the sun sets. This makes their lives a bit easier.
Also....good news!!! The concrete tee pads (6'x12') will be installed in the very near future and will only make that course better. Thanks.
