Is there a good estimation of when the South (and maybe even the North) will be open for 2019?

I'm coming up for the weeks of the 4th, am I going to get to play my most favorite course in the state?
You guys are doing a great job. When will you expect the course to be back open?
Unfortunately there isn't a date at this time, other than sometime before the Tilley's Open in August. There's been a few delays that have affected the install of the course that we have no control over.

Heading up to TC this friday and REALLY want to hit one of these courses.. plan on Saturday afternoon, June 15. PLEASE let one of these be open and ready! Anyone know anything??? Thanks!!
Thanks! Can you tell me where Kingsley is? not coming up in the search here, Also, any timelines on Hickory? I am back July 2-4 so fingers crossed!
Kingsley Civic Center South is about 20 minutes south of TC. Not set date for Hickory, but everyone involved is doing their best to get it open before July.

Are either of the courses playable?
That’s what I figured but thought I’d ask. Thanks for the quick response.
I'll be coming the end of the month, is there an anticipated date that the course will be playable? Thanks in advance!

We need help getting tees ready for concrete at Hickory.
We'll be there tonight and tomorrow by 6pm. All day Sunday. We'll be digging and setting frames on the South course.
Please let us know if you can make it so we can plan ahead.
I'm going to have to bail Sunday, if you need help Monday in any way I'm there

Has the course reopened from construction? Getting close? Heading up to the area next month and would love to get a round in.
No, sorry. Goal is to have the first course open and playable sometime in June. As soon as it's open to the public, something will be posted on here, DGCR, UDisc.
Myles Kimmerly, Kingsley Civic Center South, and Almira Twp Park are all open for play.

So I’m making a trip up Memorial Day weekend, last time I played the course was 3 years ago and I’m seeing things about construction going and that there’s a north and south now. I don’t doubt that they will both be great, but I’m just trying to get more info, so is one 18 done and the other still under construction or both under construction or is there just one 18 that currently under construction. Or if anyone knows if it will be done by 5/23
Any updates on the likelyhood of the course being open this weekend?
Sorry, won't be open this weekend. They still have some trail work to complete up there, and don't want to open the course just to have to shut it back down in a week or two.
Okay, thanks for all the help. Guess I’ll just have to plan another trip for later this summer

any one know if this place is open for play as of now?
It is not. They hope to be putting in tee pads and baskets in the next few weeks
Do you have any idea when the baskets will be going in? Heading up there next weekend.

Is Hickory Hills open for play?
Not until at least the middle of May. Kingsley Civic Center South and Myles Kimmerly are open.
Lee Slikkers April 1, 2019 at 2:41am
Headed up to TC this weekend, does anyone know if Hickory is open for play?
It’s is not open for play yet. Baskets won’t be in for another few weeks probably. Also probably snow still on the slopes. Kingsley Civic Center South is going to be your best bet this time of year.

Holes 7,8,9 are currently unplayable due to recent rain washout & seeding (per City of TC). Please STAY OFF these areas. North Woods Disc Chuckers are working on getting some other holes in the ground in the next couple of weeks.

Hey all, I'm going to be in the TC area this weekend (probably not the only visitor for the holidays). What is the state of the course? Is the original 18 gone and never to return? Loved that layout. Lots of memories. Do you still recommend getting a map at Tilley's before playing? Are the new North and South courses utilizing any of the original holes or is this a complete redesign? Thanks in advance.
Some of the holes from the original 24 exist in the current temporary 18. Second course has not been completed yet, construction is still on going. A map from Tilley's is definitely recommended. Look for orange "NEXT TEE" signs to help navigate
City removed three holes today (Thursday) due to re-seeding of a ski slope.

Coming into town this Saturday 8/11 and will be there for a week. Came in mid july and could not complete due to construction. Is the construction complete? Is the second 18 in? Lost that yearly nostalgia of coming up and playing this fantastic course. Looking to rebound. Any information would be appreciated!
i know it is still fully playable with the construction, just tough to navigate since a bunch of the holes have been moved or removed. Best bet is to find a local to show you around, my buddy went up last month and walked off because it was too much of a pain to find the next hole
Most of the holes are playable. Construction is still going on. There are orange NEXT TEE signs to help with navigation. There is also a map available at Tilley's. All distances on tee signs are correct.
Check out Terrence Park Course while you're there. It a great course

I'd like to play Friday, Saturday or Sunday morning. Anyone that knows the current course layout gonna be there?
What time tomorrow morning? Northern Waters has a tourney close by on Saturday, and Disc Chuckers have Doubles at Garbage Hill on Sunday
NWS tourney is at Kingsley Saturday https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Paradise_City_Challenge_2018

I am in the TC area and looking to play Hickory at some point this week, is the course currently open?
Jake, I did not end up making it out there this morning. Still planning on it over the next few days but still working on locking down when.
Going to be playing this morning around 10:30 if anyone wants to join.
Eric Trantham July 6, 2018 at 1:46pm
So there's no hole 8. Played 11 next hole I come across is 15. 16,17, and 18 are in place but there is construction.
Hole 8 is a new hole. Follow the next tee sign and orange flags directly behind 7's basket. It throw down hill to the basket which is between the path of old 7 and 8
Greg Argyle June 26, 2018 at 5:54pm
Course is closed due to construction. (Per City of TC, 6/26/18). Should reopen for play in approximately 1 week.
It's open and playable. 17 baskets are in, hoping to get new hole 8 in this week. Lots of construction work being done around 16/17 fairways, play with caution.
so is the old layout just gone for good? played today and was extremely disappointed. This is my favorite course in the state and I was shocked to see that only a few original holes exist anymore.
Mike Rota June 20, 2018 at 8:32pm
Just played this course. Very awesome course. Loved the use of space.
Daymon Pugh June 18, 2018 at 11:31am
I have not played mount Mcsauba I hear this is a very hard and demanding course. That being said I played Hickory Hills on Sunday and this is the toughest course in Michigan. Right now From walking up all of the hills to all the brush still on the course to all of the terrible landing zones makes this the toughest course in Michigan and my eyes. Yes tougher then Toboggan
Chris Lozen May 28, 2018 at 1:45pm
Lost a purple Paul Mcbeth Destroyer on 16. Slipped out of my hand and got sawed off pretty bad. Couldn't find it on the hill on the left side of the fairway. If found, my contact info is on the bottom of the disc. Reward for return!
Sometime this month.
I understand that sometimes it's quite difficult to be specific, but why did I receive a general answer?
Many things are out of the control of those helping install the courses, so that's the best answer at this point in time.
