Falling Creek Park has a lot of nice features and I havn't seen many courses like it in Virginia. Since it was built in an existing park 2 years ago that was mostly old pasture land it is mostly open. Large cedar trees that follow old fencelines are the major obstacles. Extremely well kept up and maintained we have great support from the parks and rec department as well as the local DG Club. Teepads are some of the nicest looking I have ever seen as they built of bricks. Only downside is they ca ...

This course offers all types of shots. You get big open pasture with few trees scattered throughout the fairway, then duck into tight technical wooded shots. Obviously the local clubs maintain this course very well, the tee pads were some of the best I have seen. I was visiting family out here from Oregon. I will be trying to come back to play again on my next visit out east.

I played this course in late June and Falling Creek provides a ball-golf like experience because of how the fairways are groomed. The main fairways were close mowed but this grooming comes to an abrupt halt and very tall grass (not nasty vines & thorns) comes into play requiring well played shots. I don't recall if high grass was OB or not, but if it is, all the more reason to give this course a high rating due to the challenge that the "rough" provides. Nice mix of wooded and open shots and ...

I like the variety of this course. There are 3 to 4 different ways your could play this course. It was fun. We fought off a bunch of bugs too.

Great course in a great park.

Holes are mostly open. Some tee boxes and some holes are in woods, but no holes are completely surrounded by woods. Relatively wide fairways with brush and tall grasses flanking.

Great balance between long holes and shorter distances.

Fun course to play. Changes have really increased the value of this course. Open holes make for an excellent Beginner Course who is moving toward Intermediate. One issue is that some of the new Pars in the long layout are not reasonable for non-open players. Could change #2 and #4 and then it would be more accurate to normal disc golfers.
