James Cordes 65 - IOS #50 - Oswego Open (Shorts), 21 holes "Had 30 ft putt for deuce on hole 2, but there was a headwind and I laid it up. It skidded softly under the basket, popped up on its side and rolled away 30 feet. Unreal. Still, no excuse to 4 putt.
Overall, I played really poorly this round. I missed short putts on 2,3,6,8,13,16,19,21.
I also had the terrible idea of throwing a thumber on hole 20. Bad round. Bad decisions. Really bad putting. The soft ions got hot and stuck in my hands. Gotta evaluate that."+4
James Cordes 67 - IOS #50 - Oswego Open (Longs), 21 holes "Started off on 8 and had a great start. I missed an easy deuces on hole 17. I missed another easy deuce on hole 19 (the picnic table hole).
My upshot on 20 was good, I just bricked the putt.
I had a meltdown on 4 and never recovered. Backhand hyzer out over the OB hit a tree and made it maybe 20 feet past the short tee. I duffed my forehand approach. I duffed my next forehand approach. My jump putt hit a tree and fell to circle's edge. I two putt from there.
Missed short putts on 4,7,17,19,20.
My second round from the longs was good enough for 2nd in Rec overall, but I left so many strokes on the course it was a day of "what could have been.""Sunday, May 27, 2012
