+6Jeremy LeCrone 60 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Wet morning round. Teepads were a bit slick and I had to take care to wipe my discs plenty before each throw. Made for good concentration, and decent consistencies in the long game. Just couldn't deliver on several 20-35 foot birdie opps... Openned up with a birdie on 7 (shotgun start), followed by a double bogie to immediately wipe it away. Putter was in line, but falling short consistently. Bad luck roll in the woods on 10 put me in the creek, and a headwind on 18 held my destroyer off of it's hyzer turn and drifted just out of bounds on the road. Otherwise, bogies were little mind errors and the results of overzealous attempts to chain birdie putts."
+9Jeremy LeCrone 63 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Hot afternoon round. Grass dried out from the morning and heat slowly rolled in, maxing out somewhere around 93 degrees, with plenty of humidity rising up from the ground and winds swirling a bit. Lost concentration on key shots. Upshot on 18 soared over the basket and onto the parking lot. Upshot on 5 (second hole of the round) hit a tree and putter problems reared their ugly head. Conservative play put together plenty of pars, but every attempt to salvage some strokes was met with nerves and poor performance (i.e. 17 foot birdie putt on 3 turned double bogie, poor upshot on 2, poor putt on 4...)"
+2Rick Petrie 56 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Morning round of the 2014 Sunflower State Games singles tournament. Started play on #13, missed an easy putt (first of the day) there because I wasn't "ready to play". Should have "gone for it" more from the tee on the shorter fairways. In a four-way tie for 2nd Place at the lunch break, 3 strokes behind 1st Place."
+4Rick Petrie 58 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Afternoon round of the 2014 Sunflower State Games singles tournament. Shotgun started on #13 (again), played better than in the AM & was setting at par with 3 holes to go... holes 10, 11 & 12. Decided I probably needed to be "aggressive" on #10 (by the creek) to stay in the medals, so I made an aggressive throw. My disc glided approx. 2/3 down the fairway, then hit the right side of a tree & kicked OB into the creek (Dang!). My troubles didn't end there because my "last in bounds" lie was behind a big cluster of trees... thus my hopes of a perfect round & probably a medal was gone. Finished the singles tournament tied for 5th place, 8 strokes from Gold, 4 strokes from Silver, and 3 strokes from Bronze."

+4Jon Tveite 58 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Morning round in the SSG: I started on #14, and never really got on track. I just played okay, with very few good shots but occasional bad ones, leading to too many bogeys. By the end I had started to miss 15-20' putts. It just wasn't a very satisfying effort."
+7Jon Tveite 61 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Started the afternoon round on #14 again, a good birdie hole I could never manage to get close to all weekend. #15 played long into the wind (especially when you catch a tree off the tee), and #16 was another O.B. disaster, with the help of some gusty wind while I was trying to putt. All weekend I had had trouble on #2 & #4 (both in long, unfamiliar positions); this time I parred them both with good drives and upshots. Unfortunately, these were more than balanced out by concentration problems on holes I had been playing pretty well, e.g. #3, #6, & #10. My tee shots were improving as the round wore on, but my short game got worse, like on #7 where I threw to within 30' but then, instead of making birdie, I three-putted. The only real bright spot was a perfectly thrown Stalker that ended up less than a foot from the pipe on #9."

-3Jon Tveite, doubles with Rick Petrie 51 - Regular tees, 18 holes "This was our morning round, starting on #17. We were tied for first after it with the two Topeka-area guys we played with, so we played with them again in the afternoon."
EJon Tveite, doubles with Rick Petrie 54 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Afternoon round at SSG Doubles. We started on #17 again. We came in second, two shots out of the lead. I think I got the hole scores right or close to it, but after four rounds in two days, it's hard to be sure from memory. "

+2Jon Tveite 56 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I was just okay off the tee, and had a large number of 30-40' birdie putts just miss, with a couple that stuck. I hit too many tree limbs, but my approach/recovery game was pretty good. Couldn't keep my Teebird on the course when it came to #16, but par was my most typical score by far."
EJon Tveite 54 - Regular tees, 18 holes "The sun was still high, so I decided to go again, and had a very steady round. Started out well by fading my Escape to about 15' for an easy birdie (after taking four the first time), and then ran off a long string of pars, with a lot of basket-rattling birdie putts and nice recoveries after catching trees. Then I blew it (again) on #15 & #16, but parked my tee shot on #17 to get back to level par."
