Built on an old 9 hole golf course on an island on the Mississippi River. It has a good balance of short and long pin positions. The relative openess is friendly to beginners, while careful distance cosideration creates challenges for a variety of skill levels. The City of Davenport does a great job of mowing only the fairways creating beautifully shaped holes. Late spring the fairways are green grass and the rough is low golden flowers...like the Wizard of Oz - it's amazing. Tree pruning and the planting of new trees and shrubs will improve course playability in the future.
