I was wondering if someone could clarify the OB on hole #4? This is the 300-foot, par 3 that throws towards the water treatment (?) mound with the shed and retaining wall. OB stakes line each side of the fairway. Along the right side, the stakes terminate at the cluster of trees just to the right of the basket 4. There are no stakes on the other side of the tree to indicate the OB line extends through the cluster of trees. The stakes pick up again at the small shed/utility vault. Is tha ... more

PLEASE RESPECT BLUE LAKE AND SURROUNDING HOMEOWNERS. NO ALCOHOL, PETS, OR LITTER!
Please bring a spare bag (Trash/Recycle) and pick any trash you see. Additionally shame whoever is breaking the rules, even your closest DG buddies should catch wrath if they break the rules here. Too many hours, blood/sweat/blackberry scars from all of us to let this slide. PLEASE DON'T RUIN THIS!

What is the footage of the course and whats Par? Appreciate the info.
I believe the OB line extends on a line that the last two stakes on the ground create. So if you stand behind the second to last stake and look straight through the last stake, the OB line would extend straight to infinity beyond the last stake. I believe this is the case for all the OB lines at Blue Lake that don't connect and form the fairway into an island or peninsula.
The beginning of hole 12 has another grey area like this where if you hit a tree (what? no chance on that hole!) and bounce hard left or right you can be OB but not beyond any red stakes. Also, someone with more authority can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :)
I'd say anything behind the trees up to the WTP is in bounds. When I play hole 5, I shoot to the top of the WTP. It's not OB on that hole, so I think it is the same for hole 4.
Look closely on hole 4 you will see the stakes are tight to the right edge of the Cedar tree and go all the way to the top of the mound, or at least they did when they where 1st installed. The Stakes then cut right across the top of the mound and back down to hole 5 tree. this creates an OB deadzone ... more
Look closely on hole 4 you will see the stakes are tight to the right edge of the Cedar tree and go all the way to the top of the mound, or at least they did when they where 1st installed. The Stakes then cut right across the top of the mound and back down to hole 5 tree. this creates an OB deadzone I personally find annoying but H & M didn't ask for opinions on OB's. Hole 12 has a massive amount of trees and shrubs to catch you, the need to put OB stakes in seems odd. But that is how it is now, bummer. So Kyle to answer your original question on hole 4, if you are on the right edge of the big cedar tree all the way up to the mound your OB, if your under it or beyond it but left of the stakes your in.
