This is destined to be one of the "must play" courses in Michigan. Defining features of this heavily-wooded, tight course, situated between two campgrounds on the Muskegon River just north of the Hardy dam include: two distinctly different courses (blue tees at nearly 6,000', red tees at 4,000')--each equally challenging and fun to play, a design that allows for campers at either location to play nine back to their starting location, restrooms and vending conveniently located on each 9-hole swin ...

Big Bend Park is a heavily wooded course with very demanding fairways. There are some alternate pin placements on some holes that are going up against a 50 foot cliff and water (Hardy Dam Pond) behind it. Fun shots through the woods that make you pull different shots and discs from your bag of tricks. Hole 16 is a beast of a hole 606 feet (minimum) through lines of pine trees. You will hit trees on this course, so the mental game is also very important here as well. Dr Johnson has another great layout and design here. Remember your bug spray and water for sure.

I love this course! Its so challenging and you will definitely hit some trees playing here. Hole 16 "The Cathedral" is sick. I hear they should be getting teepads in soon. To me this is a must play.

Great course. Super challenging, long, tight fairways, brutal rough & solid pin placements. Layout flows very well, tee pads need work but course is still new. The signage at the course is garbage. Accurate hole description but the distances were all way off, but they were corrected relatively recently I believe. This is definitely a shot makers course. You have to capitalize on the deuces that are there because there are not too many of them. Also challenging for upshots, lots of trees means yo ...

Man, was this course beautiful! But with it's beauty came some of the hardest holes I've played. Two holes that stuck out were "The Big Bend" which was a massive 90 degree fairway that totaled about 650ft. Also "The Cathedral" (Hole16) which measured around 700 ft. 20 ft. wide dead straight fairway with tall pine trees lining the whole line. Amazing course to help you become a better golfer!

Great course. Very challenging and the majority of the holes have a "fair" fairway. Def feel good when you par some of the tougher holes. Does need to have a few trees removed to reduce the "luck" aspect, but some great lines and def in my top 10 fav courses.
