Big Bend Park

This is destined to be one of the "must play" courses in Michigan. This is destined to be one of the "must play" courses in Michigan. Defining features of this heavily-wooded, tight course, situated between two campgrounds on the Muskegon River just north of the Hardy dam include: two distinctly different courses (blue tees at nearly 6,000', red tees at 4,000')--each equally challenging and fun to play, a design that allows for campers at either location to play nine back to their starting location, restrooms and vending conveniently located on each 9-hole swing, downright scary tournament pin placements on bluffs dropping off to the river, and a signature hole featuring a 726' straight gradually uphill fairway flanked by towering pines.

6" x 12' cement tee pads and two new championship holes (which will make what is now 16, the finishing hole) and increased parking at 'tournament central' will raise the letter grade I would assign this course to A+

Great course. Super challenging, long, tight fairways, brutal rough & solid pin placements. Layout flows very well, tee pads need work but course is still new. The signage at the course is garbage. Accurate hole description but the distances were all way off, but they were corrected relatively recently I believe. This is definitely a shot makers course. You have to capitalize on the deuces that are there because there are not too many of them. Also challenging for upshots, lots of trees means yo ...

Great course. Super challenging, long, tight fairways, brutal rough & solid pin placements. Layout flows very well, tee pads need work but course is still new. The signage at the course is garbage. Accurate hole description but the distances were all way off, but they were corrected relatively recently I believe. This is definitely a shot makers course. You have to capitalize on the deuces that are there because there are not too many of them. Also challenging for upshots, lots of trees means you will find yourself off the fairway and may have to be quite creative to get near the basket with an approach. The course slightly favors lefty's/ RHFH throwers (only 3 or 4 pure hyzer shots I can remember). I won't drag this out forever, but I will say that if you are anywhere nearby and you are looking for a great and challenging course, Big Bend is definitely for you.
