All I have to say is we have a winner, the new holes are amazing, felt like I walked right onto Browns farm, I absolutely love it. To all of you that helped Eric with this thank you so much and great job, that is how a course is supposed to look, AMAZING.

A few of us will be out spreading the mulch tomarrow at 11am, if anyone can make it out to help it would be much appreciated. This is the end. Next week the park service will be out with a skid loader moving some of the larger logs and drilling holes for the pins, then the week after the course should be changed out. We have upwards of 30 square yards of mulch to spread and we should be good. So... any one, everyone, we need some help. We will have a no cash round afterward and anyone who helps gets a shot at the ace fund.

This time we used a 2/1 dirt/lite gravel mixture. We packed it with the bobcat which is 2000lbs. We mounded it up pretty well, so hopefully it works for a while. I guess we will see over time.

The front 9 tees have been filled in... so no more holes. They have been packed down but are a little soft, so please be courteous and try to fix divots.

Mitch Renwick June 3, 2011 at 9:41am
I guess we'll get back on topic after the music talk and soap box whining...
But I wanted to let you know I will not be able to make it Saturday, I just have too much yard work at home that I need to get done before leaving for vacation next week. I've been working at it after work all week, but I still have a lot to do and I just gotta get it done Saturday.
Sorry I wont be able to make it this time, I really want to get the course done too

I'm debating weather or not to go see Robin Trower. IMO he's way better than Phish. And i've seen Phish so don't go there.

It's GREAT to see "some" people give back some of their free or play time to make our area DGC's enjoyable for all. I just got back from a little road trip and played a few courses that it looked like their wasn't a club present (Carlisle, Pa. DGC had large trees felled by a recent storm but appearred that no one of the club went to park to clean up a little, well I as a tourist pitched in as much as I could with the little time as I had a cleaned up the smaller felled trees from the tee box ... more

DGC had large trees felled by a recent storm but appearred that no one of the club went to park to clean up a little, well I as a tourist pitched in as much as I could with the little time as I had a cleaned up the smaller felled trees from the tee boxes and fairways) to their respective DGC or they didn't have knowledgable people doing the work. (example, played the Black Mountain DGC in Moundsville, WV. pretty good DGC, but the leaders who are installing the tee pads totally ruined a pretty good DGC by installing 4' X 6' raised above ground tee pads with large gravel. so one has to step up and throw off dangerous tee pads with some holes over 800' long.).
The other DGC in Summit county is also having a work day this saturday. We don't get a lot of volenteers either, but todays sacrifices will benfit us tomorrow attitude will carry us through the rough so others will be able to enjoy clean fairways. May the course be with you--------------- - +
