We have started a women's club for the state, if any of you ladies are interested in joining up. We would like to be able to get the girls that love this game together playing some rounds.

I know it seems a ways off, but its not. Huktoberfest is less than a month away and I am starting to freak out. I need help! Here's what I need.

Sponsorship. We have money coming out for reserving the fairgrounds, PDGA sanctioning and players fees, special events licensing, players packs, etc.. I need help to cover those costs or the payout's gonna be slim pickin's. If you know of someone who could sponsor the event, ask them! It doesn't have to be cash, gift certif ... more

I was just filling out the sanctioning info for Huktoberfest and was thinking how much funner it would be to have the event as a two day PDGA event with a night tournament on Saturday night between the rounds rather than a Friday night tournament and a PDGA event on just Saturday. I have been going back and forth so I thought I would put it to a vote. Let me know what you think by Tuesday and whatever gets the most votes wins.

If any of you are wanting to play Bengal Ridge up in Pocatello this year there is a 36 hole tournament on September 10th being held there that is run by me. My brother is also is helping out and says he has been working hard on adding cash and prizes so it should be worth the trip. You can find more info on it at pvdgc.org

Solitude is still on! Come play a round on Thursday. We will be set up down towards the bottom to the left of hole 18. You can register for the tourney, play one of the greatest courses in Utah, or just hang out and see what 5,000 discs looks like. One change from our last post, we will not be there at 10am, the time has shifted to high noon at the request of Solitude. See you there!

All right, Full Throttle at Solitude is this weekend. We will be up there with the entire stash on Thursday. We've got a lot more than what we had at the Riverpark Open. We will be up there from 10am to 6pm (or longer if needed). Come play a round on Thursday before the tourney and check out what close to 5000 discs looks like. Biggest selection in Utah with the best prices. Call if you want us to hold anything for you. 801-820-7750.

Here is an email that Craig Myrick received yesterday concerning the course at Art Dye:

Craig,

I hope it's okay to contact you about the Art Dye Disc Golf Course.

I'm new to the sport, and recently played the Art Dye course in American Fork, where I regularly fly RC planes. Seeing all the guys walking into the woods with frisbees is how I got interested.

Anyway, I noticed on almost all of the web sites pertaining to disc golf that our course at Art Dye is heavily criticize ... more

New disc from Gresham OR. just arrived today: The Skyquest Medusa. Spent the morning throwing it and wasn't disappointed. Plastic is very tacky and is easy to snap off the finger, however the disc feels durable (still testing it) like star or ESP plastic. Disc has lots of glide and has a great flight path. Check it out:

There was a place in Ogden that sells railroad ties. Not sure if it is still there. I will check on my way home. Hopefully I will remember to look.

The tournament registration is FULL. I've started a waitlist, so let me know if you want to be added. The first few will most likely make it in the event, but I have to wait for the postmarked registration forms to come in.

The Creekside Open is now 80% full and only 10 days away. Don't wait any longer to register. I'm going to shut down the online registration in the next couple days.

Altitude will be at the Swap Meet at the Motor View drive-in in Riverdale, (located right by Riverpark DGC). Come up this Saturday, April 9th to check us out. We will have all of our plastic there, along with bags, and other stuff. After checking us out, take in a round at riverpark. It doesn't get much better than that.
