Forgot to mention that all of our events will follow all required COVID-19 guidelines, which include social distancing and wearing a mask when we are not able to socially distance. We will follow these basic rules (pulled from Maryland's COVID-19 site):

Wow, no comments since 2018! Well, let's change that...

Hello all followers of the HarCo Disc Golf Club, may this message find you in good health and your bees flying straight down fairways!

We received approval from the Churchville Rec Council to start a weekly random doubles event and we held our first event on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 @ Scarboro Hills. We had about 30 players show up and 20 finished the round (storms rolled through and the smart players headed for their cars). ... more

Want to send out a little reminder about our club fundraiser at Magerks in Bel Air on Wednesday night from 5-10pm. All you have to do bring the family out for some grub and 10% of your dinner bill will go to the Scarboro Hills Disc Golf Club. http://scarborohills.com/Dinner-at-Magerks.html

Happy 4th of july clubbers! If anyone goes to Scarboro today look in the mailbox for an orange meteor! Its Mike Herbst's, he left it on hole 10 at doubles and someone fund it and mailboxed it for him, hopefully its there and someone can grab and hold it for him!

Less than two weeks away and LTT is 1/2 full, which means only 20 spots left for this awesome event. Register now before it fills up. I know there is a bunch of locals that haven't signed up yet, what are you waiting for? http://www.scarborohills.com/LTT-3912.html

Rock homies head to the hills. Had a great time at doubles tonight. Got paired with ridge. He made an amazing second throw on 17, off a tree and into the bucket, no chains. we watched karl wit a k tear it up. 13 deuces for a 41.

I always like coming up there. Good group of throwers and a fun course. We'll be back!

Camp Sankanac = April 7th. C-Tier event. Good times last year, Soup won Advanced. If you're on the fence about play, I recommend it. Great and challenging course. $30 registration. Lots of fun last year!

I agree with ya, parks are free to all users. And I don't want to prevent him from running an event. My concern was along lines of if we were working on a tee pad or something would that interfere or other things along that line. Obviously our club is aware of possible work going on. But I do think that if we wanted to do something at say French Creek (example) you have spoken with someone of their club and/or checked into make sure no events have been scheduled that day. Just a courtesy and coordination thing.

Vice Hester, meant better, damn apple auto-correct....i swear the auto-correct feature uses a far eastern context, where does it come up with the words?

Word, good point. Weird situation though, but if you look at it like splitting time at sports fields your point makes a lot of sense. Hester to coordinate things like that a head of time rather than having a scheduling conflict.

Oh I agree with you Brian, we never told him no. On the MD board he scheduled a bunch of dates that conflicted with other events and club activities throughout the state that ruffled a few feathers. But he has recently changed it to Lake Montebello only events. ***I do think it would be common courtesy to at least let the local club of a course know that you want to hold an event, whether it be SHDGC or any other club.

***this is not a bash against anyone or any club, just stating an opinion. ... more

public parks = free use by anyone, anytime....only caveat is whether or not they'll need to close the course for their event. if so, that's when they should coordinate with SHDGC. if they don't need to close the course, then I don't think we can tell anyone "No." It's not like there is only one pavillion and must be reserved due to limited space. one thing we need to recognize is that county parks are paid for and cared for with tax payer dollars, it's ... more

I think he's just getting over excited about stuff and not realizing he's stepping on toes. The good Dr. Evil has set him on the correct path. Montebello club will now have weekly tag matches at Montebello only. There is already a monthly series (Scarboro is not included in this) for anyone that wants to play for MD tags. http://www.md-discgolf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3528
