Does anyone have any news on the proposed DG course in Rose Park? Markus told me the county allotted $10k for a temp course to be in by November, but obviously those plans have changed.

Saturday I talked to some golfers playing there. They said 25 years ago the par 3 section south of the main golf course was a DG course, and the county met in September to discuss plans for returning it to DG. The county's meeting agenda said the representative for the new course is Dan Roper. Anyone know more about this or how to contact Dan?

Any Tournaments planned for the opening of the course???

Dave Roper   November 7 at 9:06am

We have talked about having a couple community events with the eventual plan of having a tournament next year. There is a MAJOR need for more tournament directors in SLC...

Any idea on an updated opening date?

Hi, I live in Stansbury Park I am also on the Stansbury Service Agency. We e have just put in a disc golf course and I am worried that we have made the course too long and with too many things to play around. We are getting close to putting in all the signage I would like to see if someone would be willing to come out and evaluate or course and tell us if it is an enjoyable course or not. You can contact me Neil Smart 801.372.0881

I'm not exactly a representitive of the Tunnel Runners, but I'd love to get involved. I've got some big plans for Disc Golf in Utah.

Jory Reid is the man behind the Tunnel Runners organization and events. I wouldn't mind participating myself, but I will talk to Jory and one of us will surely contact you.

We are anxiously looking for sponsorship for the Soda Springs Summer Fling on July 20th. It has been difficult to find sponsorship in such a small remote town. Can you throw anything our way?

Went real well. Will put in a design for the 2200 E course shortly and it may serve as stepping stone for bigger things to come...city is very much excited for not only DG opportunities, but also a quality site that is high level tournament ready. A quick 2200 E turnaround may put something in place soon and we can develop something great down the road.

Tight money in city budget is a bit of a concern. But they like what disc golf could do for the city. And FYI, Council Chair LaMalfa has his own disc golf ace under his belt, a few years back at Solitude.
