Those plans haven't changed. The temp course was installed and we are ready to put the baskets up as soon as the land use agreement is signed by the city and the golf course is closed.

I believe the latest target opening date for disc golf is Nov 15th. It is still Jordan River Golf Course until Nov 2nd.

Stansbury Park - The Long Course is of great value. We do not have any other very long courses in the area, making this one great for variety. I hope we can put together a tournament there in 2015. The biggest mistake designers can make in this day and age of high tech long distance discs is to put in a short "rec" type course, that the large disc golf community would ignore. Consistent use by new players is usually only achieved via joining groups of existing players, so this course that appeals to existing player's will create more new local players than a short/easy course would. Neil, I finally got to play the course today. I definitely had a good time but I can see some potential future issues on 7,8,11 and 12 just due to close proximity. Most of the other overlapping fairways can be easily dealt with by being courteous and announcing throws. If there were some added mandatory markers I could see the overlapping issues being lessened quite a bit. I would also make all of the par 5's par 4's. I'm an intermediate player and if I played with the current scoring system I would have shot -10 today. You could probably drop some of the par 4's to par 3's as well but we can discuss those further elsewhere.

Went real well. Will put in a design for the 2200 E course shortly and it may serve as stepping stone for bigger things to come...city is very much excited for not only DG opportunities, but also a quality site that is high level tournament ready. A quick 2200 E turnaround may put something in place soon and we can develop something great down the road.

Tight money in city budget is a bit of a concern. But they like what disc golf could do for the city. And FYI, Council Chair LaMalfa has his own disc golf ace under his belt, a few years back at Solitude.
