if the sign is for nick it is most likely 2' off the ground and obstructed by a snow drift.

Joe Wander   December 18, 2013 at 1:52pm

Nice job, G. They'd been cleared on Sunday so hopefully things hadn't gotten too bad.

Nick Pacific   December 18, 2013 at 10:47pm

No kidding on the sign, that's hilarious, my one attempt at being a vocal ended up with serious fail

Anybody know what the pads at stoney are looking like

Nate Wheeling    March 10, 2013 at 5:39am

HM Update: Original shorts are clear, but all the other pads are under an slushy/icey mix. A couple of warm days with sun should do the trick. Fairways are squishy, slushy, and still icey in certain parts.

*Lakeshore* - Shorts on back 15 -18+letters are spotty. Some pads clear and good, some with only a spot for a stand-still and some just completely covered. Bring Shovel and salt if you can.

I'm going to get to all tees tonight after close..for the tournament tomorrow..if it's sunny all day, it should finally slide right off..

Anybody know how the pads look at rolling hills? Were they cleared for church league last Sunday?

Government bureaucracy at its finest. We complain, they do enough to cover their own butts. You'd think with all of our pay to play fees they could send one of those workers out for an hour or so on his golf cart to shovel every once and awhile. They sure don't mind driving around and harassing us to pay fees all summer.

I would like to give big-time kudos to the Indy Lake staff who keep both the mid & long pads clear all winter long.

"Jacob Quiton   March 6, 2013 at 5:16pm

That's the staff doing that? Wow huge thanks to those guys!

Ben Calhoun    March 6, 2013 at 5:57am

Lakeshore- all but a few (15,16 for some reason were completely impossible to shovel) of the original 24's short pads are clear now. Most longs untouched. Should have them done for Saturday's tournament.

Reset!

Nick Pacific   February 27, 2013 at 9:20am

Today would be the day to go out and shovel. All the pads are just slushy, get them clean today and they won't collect ice overnight tonight.

Ben Calhoun    February 24, 2013 at 4:40am

Lakeshore seems mostly shoveled- the PDGA league did the longs the other day, not sure if 18 or more than 18, and I gave the shovel to some people this morning and it appears they shoveled all the short tees!

Anyone with updates following the recent snowage? Hope it gets cold tonight so at least it will be a dry round tomorrow.

Jerry Cyr, the Park Operations Manager for Delhi, Dexter-Huron, Hudson Mills & Huron Meadows Metroparks, was nice enough to get back to me regarding the course and the tee pads in the winter time (see my post regarding the email I sent him a couple pages back).

He said that for the league members that play out there (A3, etc.) are welcome to use their in house shovels & salt anytime, just remember to return them.

Better than nothing I say - looks like asking nicely paid off.

awesome

Ben Calhoun   January 2, 2013 at 3:51pm

yup, I borrowed them once like two years ago, just ask them

Jim Daniels    January 2, 2013 at 9:00pm

RH shorts in better shape now due to added (environmentally friendly per Foz's recommendation) salt. Only had a quart jar of salt so some tees in back woods portion only have 2 good steps or half a tee. There is also a community shovel on the 1st tee, a good quality one, thank you Foz.

rolling tees like they are most winters. front half cleared. back side icy; would require salt and some serious labor

Hunter S. Dotson    January 1, 2013 at 11:16pm

Bandemer is a nightmare. Had I had the means to clear it I would have but I played left if pad to keep it classy. Fairways are decent but pads need shoveling and sega salt.

A regular flat shovel works great, it might be smaller but way better than any snow shovel on stepped on compacted snow on the pads

Hunter S. Dotson   January 2, 2013 at 9:00am

They looked to be mend-able. not super packed yet but unless someone gets out there soon it will be deadly.

Ben Calhoun   January 2, 2013 at 9:16am

if I go there, I will be ready for them, but probably going to willow

Ben Calhoun    December 31, 2012 at 9:36pm

Lakeshore- shoveled and salted 1-18 short totally clear. 1-9 long shoveled, no salt, clear though.
