***Free Juniors Workshop*** thought by Dustin Keegan

We have Dustin booked for sometime this fall for a Junior's clinic. Dustin is heading to the east coast to tour for the next month. Once he returns we will get this on the schedule. If you are a junior player between the age of 12yrs to 18 yrs old and would get the opportunity to get in on a free workshop by one Oregon's best contact Jason Bruster.

We wanted to make it as cheap registration as possible and also provide a great players pack so everyone leaves with something. Scrip payouts will be heavy to at the top end and not played out so deep. Players should be more careful in these close-quarters situations, too. Sounds like spotters were needed, or the hole should have been skipped altogether. If we players can't police ourselves, we'll start seeing courses shut down at a time when the sport is really taking off. Not a good sign!

UPDATE: Keizer Rapids DGC stolen basket

So... we were able to raise $100 from 9 people that showed up for the Drive It Like You Stole It tourney... PacWest will match those funds raised and I have requested a match of $200 from Keizer Parks Foundation (of which I have been assured will be granted) will cover the cost of a new Basket and shipping. The goodies for the tourney winners will be in this week... Sorry I didn't have them on the day of the event.

Cheers and thanks to the few that showed up to do the right thing to help replace the stolen basket!!!!

The "unofficial official announcement"

I have been working on getting a new DGC in at Willamette Mission State Park, north of Keizer, near the Wheatland Ferry. Nothing will be official until the first branch is cut on the first fairway during the first clearing/work party.

Planning on par 56, (maybe 58- fingers crossed) with both wooded and more open holes.

I'll post more as more news becomes available!

Hope you are as excited about this as we are!!!

Disc Golf Marathon-100 Hole Tourney for Canyonview Camp Fundriaser

We are looking at running a 100 tourney for Canyonview Camp, Maybe May 11th, that would be our first time having the real course layout in place. It would be like a Jog-a-thon in fundraising format, in that each participant would try to raise $2.00-$10.00 per hole from outside sources, businesses, family and friends. Each buisness may only give $0.05 a hole, so there will need to be some kind of commitment. The goal is to raise $27,000 for our Camp. Our regular golf (like with a club and ball) f ... more

May 11th would make it a birthday party for me, what a way to spend it I guess. 100 holes around that course should either get my exercise for the day or make sure I don't make it to my next one. Should be good day either way.

Rick Saffeels   January 31, 2013 at 7:44pm

YEAH!! And the format will have you throw 2-3 shots per hole if desired so one only has to walk the course 2 times.

We will be providing rewards for time and production of work done during major projects on Disc Golf Courses. 1%ers will receive discs, clothing, and bag patches depending on how many hours they provide on major projects. Major project coordinators will receive double time towards rewards. We are looking forward to 2013 being a great year for the growth of Disc Golf!
