I want to personally thank every each and one of you who helped to create, launch and spread the word of HOLE8 and PDGC. Without you and your fellow tossers support, what we created and developed over the past few yrs just isnt possible. But the BEAST never sleeps and and the BEAUTY can never have enough attention or cash!.........I want to intimately apologize to the ENTIRE disc golf community for my absence and for whatever impact it may have had. There is NO good enough excuse for my absence but we all have lists of our own that keep us down. Unfortunatly those convictions win us over some times and we feel all is lost. Now on to a higher note, I was taught and also had to RE-LEARN those infamous words "if you have nothing good to say, then say nothing at all". So after all that, what I have to say my friends is that I PROMISE We will continue to BEAT this path through the shrubs and prickers and clean up this fairway for ALL to enjoy!..... Disc golf In the metro parks, the day to have that change came and went and only a handfull came out.
Talk is cheap, actions move things forward. I hope the convictiOns of a few will make it a reality for the many who talk a good game.

Tonight 5:30-7:30 pm at canal way center there is a public meeting to allow the public to voice their opinion on activitys to be added to the parks. Stop out and Let your voice be heard. They are listening! We have a foot in the door and we are the closest we have been to getting disc golf added to our metroparks. So make time to stop out and say you would like to see disc golf in our park system. It's up to you to ... more

Cleveland metroparks Outdoor "FUN"damentals this weekend april 21-22

Come one come all to show your disc golf support, We will be at the Ohio Erie Canal Reservation this sat-sun 11-4 introducing, promoting, explaining, and instructing people on the basic FUNdamentals of disc golf, so please come check it out. A CALL TO ARMS! that wanna come out and help teach people, and walk a few holes and share your love of disc golf with new prospects. Your help will be much appreciated. cleveland metroparks opens it door to HOLE 8 and the NEO alliance...we can accomplish anything guys just come out and support the local scene and lets keep pushing the sport. check out my tv debut. lol i didnt even know we were live for the first min. but it was fun. and kenny will be coming to the shop and tri C soon to to promote the "beauty and the beast"!

PREPARATION for the Beauty and the Beast "CAN-AM" "VIBRAM QUALIFIER"

To anyone that wants to help clean up the course. please do general cleanup around the entire grounds, (move big sticks, clear paths, clear baskets greens of dead limbs, trash and debris. ) Special clean up on Hole 1, Hole 6, 10 Long, and 15 Long. and clean up on the extra hole between 15 and 16.

The short pin installation at the Vet is just about complete! Due to wet weather a few of the sleeves didnt set. Today here are the short baskets that are in 2,3,5,6,10,11,15,17 poles needed for baskets 1,4,6,8,14,17 Short Pins yet to be placed, 4,8 sleeves that didnt set 9,18 These pin locations are in addition to the longs that were added, As well as the original locations and all basket poles made moveable. Well a new summer break is upon us again. And the parma kids are at it again. All the benches and garbage bucket have been destroyed. Along with the tee markers for the back 9. So in a last ditch effort to stop the destruction. Pk deaner and I have embarked on a bench fortification project. This started last night we built and cemented in a bench on 2. With plans for benches on 8 13 15 and 16 being rebuilt to last. In other news tee pads on the back will get Marked in the coming few weeks rede ... more

Getting longer

Tee pads longer?

PDGC has donated time and money to complete the task of making one of the tee pads at the Vet longer.

PK Deaner and myself.... made form, back filled with gravel, and poured an extra 3 feet to the end of
#1's pad.

PDGC will be recognized on the rear of the pad as a sponsor of the extra pad

If you wish to help out, we need a few more pads done. $50 is the cost of materials, labor will be performed by the PDGC.
You will then have your name or clubs name in the pad for the life of the pad.

The goal is to complete this by may21st

OMG Its Really happening......

Well..... The Poles are set! Yeah! Jim and I spent most of the day clearing fairways and greens. The city will mulch greens and clear brush the remainder of the week near the end of the week the baskets will go in. We have a few things to do as well. To do list hole 2 tee pad needs acetone and wire brushed hole 3 bench needs secured hole 4 brush piles needs removed from fairway hole 11, 2 islands on the left need prickers removed, sticks from removed tree needs cleared from fairw ... more

hole 15 bench needs secured fairway left of path to the triangle needs cleared big time, right side widened up to the fallen tree
hole 16 bench needs securedfairway widened, just bruch cleared from green area leave the small trees
hole 17 fairway needs a bit more clearing
hole 18 bench needs to be made tee area needs worked on a bit more

as you see we are far from done, and those who offered to help, Iwill be up at the course all week after work and during when i can get away. So dont be strangers lend a hand, an hour of your time will go a long way.

A great mix of wooded shots with small elevation changes gives the course a great risk / reward feel. This is really the only one of the 4 Cleveland courses where you can get yourself in trouble & have to scramble to save par. Birdie options on 1 & 9 are a must for a solid round, while the rest are difficult, but possible. Why only a 3-star? Because it only has 9 holes. The local crew is ... more

1 Insure the baskets placements are where they should go.
2 Mark/flag hazderous trees and limbs that are ready to fall, city will fall the trees and leave stumps for benches. looking for 2x10s.
3 clear underbrush on 15,16,17
4 finish course sign door, and post club info, city info and course map created and posted.
5 remove baskets we placed, looking at Nike site for 2nd course!

So >>>>> Saturday all day I will be cleaning garbage and clearing what I can on the back nine and re hashing the layout. 11 is going to be a short ace run instead of the dogleg, 17 will be 100 feet longer, and I want to relocate 18s tee. The more folks we can get out the better. Bring any clippers or weed whips machettes what ever ya got and lend a hand. Sunday I will setup temp course and we will do 27 hole scramble 3 times around to try and beat down a lil more before the city visit. My goal is to make any vandalism thats occuring, be less noticable. THIS WILL CONVINCE THE CITY THE BASKETS WONT GET DAMAGED. With that said we had spray paint on 2s tee that needs removed as well.

Please pass this along I will have water, and will be collecting for pizza and beer at my house afterwards.
