Nice work on holes 3 and 2 Craig and Jeff! I went out by myself today around 1pm and did more work on hole 2 and a lot of work on hole 4 (the slope up to the basket hadn't been mowed at all) but still need some work on the edges of the fairway and the green area. There was one more blade-on-a-stick at home depot when i got mine - if you're reading this and don't already have one then you should go buy it and then go to Deerfield and start whacking some weeds!!! P.S. I did see ... more

P.S. I did see a functional mower coming down the main drive as I was leaving, I think he had been mowing around the parking area for the sledding hill...for all those late June sledders.

Yeah, Nikki and I can take one tee pad, and I'm done teaching in two weeks so I should be able to help during the day!

You know I'm good for at least 2 pads! I'm down for the work days too, of course!! Who's with me?
Josh Taylor May 26, 2010 at 6:24pm
Awesome news on the concrete pads!!! Let's pull together and get this done!

If anyone finds a Glow Destroyer in the brush, somewhere around the corner on the left, on hole 4 at cmu please let me know, it has my name and number on it. Will trade it out for a brand new force or surge! Thanks - Josh

Tear it up at Reed tomorrow y'all! Go team MPDG (and GCDC)!!!
Josh Taylor May 7, 2010 at 11:04pm
Agreed...I was just trying to explore all of the options. Immovable concrete pads (that can also be shoveled and salted in the winter!) are still #1 on my list.
Craig Clingan May 7, 2010 at 10:41pm
Josh, I'm afraid if something wasn't done to make them permanent, we would find a tile removed and broken from time to time. You would also have to make sure none of the tiles heaved or sank. It would be cheaper but I think we're better off pouring a tinted slab.

Check out the tee pad in this pic...possibility for cheaper tee pads at deerfield???
just noticied it and thouhght i'd throw it out there...

Hey are we gonna start weekday evening dubs now that the clocks have jumped forward?
Craig Prime March 3, 2010 at 6:27am
one bag of cement will do, two will do better. I like to make a hole that expands at the bottom, making a two bag, pear shaped anchor. Make the hole's opening as small as possible, flaring out as wide as possible at the bottom so it becomes nearly impossible to pull a basket.
