Thanks Ken, just got home and that is exactly what I was going to post. RJ, using the URL Address Bar above you can click on the last 2 in "2012" and change it to a 1 so it reads 2011. You can also chage the year so it reads "2009" and "2010" to see how the scores stack up from year to year. Please note, the Pros and AM1 play 1 round from the longs. Traditionally, we have everyone at this event play from the shorts because 2 rounds of 24 holes made for events ending in the dark. Now that we have changed the course and will play 2 rounds of 18, we may have the top divisions play both rounds from the longs. Regardless, the AM2s will probably play 1 round from the longs and 1 from the shorts. Both AM3 and AM4 will play both from the shorts. These formats apply to the younger players and the Masters division will depend on who participates. Feel free to ask for more!

Keep in mind it was very windy that day from what I remember not to mention that particular course layout doesnt exist anymore. Using Firefighters scores from the MCCG may be better to judge you scores against others.

first i ask 3 questions how far do you throw? what is the average distance you make all your putts consecutively? How is your constancy in throwing.

The best thing is to talk with the TD and give them an HONEST assessment of your play on the course where the event is being played in. I say honest as most people tend to give TDs score that may have mulligans in use, VERY lax rules, and such. They then end up playing in a division too high for their actual play. Congrats on your first steps to tournament play!

I started in am3 it is a B-teir so after this event you will be rated by pdga unless you dont get your pdga number which i would recommend you do. so after you get rated it places you were you should be Kinda lol

most people Ive talked to start in AM4 in a sanctioned event. non sanctioned event AM3. this is all just my opinion

being modest, I dunno my actualy throw distance. I can throw over a football field but its hard to calculate the exact distance. I have all my shots down (Backhand, forehand, thumber etc.) for the most part, and I can nail puts usually from about 20 - 25 feet. Thank you to both of you for the quick responses.

Distance is irrelevant imo. If your new and not a whiz Am 4 when possible, 3 when not. Play the Chain Gangs spring tournament, everyone is friendly and helpful. I'm no pro but I know the rules and helped set up the tournament at Belle Isle the last couple years. All about helping!

Cool. I have some friends on that side of town on here that play a ton. I'll connect you guys. And when I say that throwing distance is irrelevant I don't mean it doesn't matter because someone who can throw 400 feet like your profile says it's going to do much better in am 4 and maybe even am 3, but what is more important is how accurate you are with your distance.

Again I'm terrible with modesty. The only disc I for sure know I'm accurate with is the nuke. I'm either still learning the ins and outs of my other ones, or haven't had them for lnog enough. Both my nukes are exactly one year old tomorrow (happy bday to them) so they're just starting to break in and really give me some great stuff.
