The offense toward disc golfers is simply a poor market decision. It is a natural market reaction to stop buying the thing that disappointed you. When enough people are disappointed the business has cause to reevaluate their product/policy. This does not have to be personal to be effective. I can i ... more

For sure john, I just thought it was ridiculous that so many people were that pissed over $10. It's not that much to ask for the land. I don't know the entire story or both sides so I'm not about to pass judgment. There's always two sides to every story and the truth is usually somewhere in the middle is all I'm sayin.

John Minicuci   September 8 at 11:03pm

I agree Mitch. I was there and heard what they said, well, most of it. It was not nice. Besides that, like I said in my post, the $10 was not as much as an issue as timing of it. Imagine after Gipe spent hundreds of hours working on the course and after the fact he handed them an unannounced invoice ... more

Larry LaBond    August 6 at 10:41am

Who is the Larry Labond guy that is on the staff and is the kaces rep?? Sounds like me, but it isn't. LOL

Mark Stephens   August 6 at 10:52am

It had the wrong email. I just changed it and it is linked up now. Thanks!

Larry LaBond   August 9 at 11:06am

Thanks Mark!

Zachary Vaughn    March 17 at 9:50am

I typically don't like to rattle chains (pun intended) about things like this but I think this is an issue worth mentioning. I submitted the Shore Acres Disc Golf Club's 2015 schedule to our State Representative back in December. We're now over halfway through March and our events have yet to be posted on the state schedule on I imagine that the majority of Michigan golfers get their schedule from here on disc golf scene but I have to imagine the is where som ... more

Not be an actual agenda until 2-3 weeks before the meeting

Jennifer Kuehle   March 17 at 11:13pm

I figured, but John asked what I was wanting to vote on. I suppose that question lead me to believe there was already an agenda in place....

John Minicuci   March 17 at 11:16pm

Nope. Like Mark said, the beginning meetings normally cover a recap of the season, financials, what worked, what didn't, new business, etc...

Andrew Przytulski    February 17, 2015 at 10:24am

Just a heads up the coupon code for affiliate club discount code for 2015 (15MDGOAFF) says it has reached the maximum number of redemptions and won't give you the discount.

Keith Aten   February 19, 2015 at 8:42am

This has been fixed and we can all get the discount

Derek Michalak    November 26, 2014 at 10:32am

The domain says it has expired as of yesterday. Is the disc golf scene going to replace that? Also is there a $5 discount for being part of the MDGO when we renew our membership?

Keith Aten   December 5, 2013 at 4:15pm

NO we will be renewing the site. And Yes you have to go to the affiliate club area when renewing or getting your new membership

Great planning and execution in Ludington last week. From my vantage point - the "B-Tier" does not convey the high status designation the event deserves. While there may be some cashe' with a two-day, 7 course, 440 player B tier event, there is probably some other criteria that keeps the event at "B". I've done a few A-tiers but did not get curious about the official distinctions until I was "rocked" by the A++ experience I had at State's. Should I consult the PDGA manual etc., or have a talk with my knowlegable friends in Grand Rapids?

John Minicuci   September 6, 2013 at 12:34am

Hi Fred, we debated the B / A Tier designation last Fall and decided to remain a B Tier on purpose for a variety of reasons. All A Tier dates, although the hosting club can propose dates, are mandated by the PDGA so we may not get the Labor Day weekend we all wanted. A Tiers, to sanction the event, ... more

Adam Geise    August 26, 2013 at 9:57am

If you are going to be in Ludington and are available any time between 5:15 and 9AM Wednesday we are doing a live taping of "Michigan This Morning" for 9&10 news and Fox 32. We need people to throw some holes, maybe talk about disc golf in an interview, putting...Contact me ASAP [email redacted]

Darren Harper 1 days ago When there is no chance in hell a division is going to fill why not let people sign up until full? Why would someone want to pay an extra 10$ and come up a day early another 110$ for hotel just to get in ? No other tourney requires this... stupid need to go back to old format assigning poi ts to each tourney in the series and totals would decide tourney only deciding state champ is suspect at best. MDGO BLOWS good turnout in the pro grand, masters, and ope ... more

Eric, If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there, does it make a sound?

John Minicuci   August 26, 2013 at 12:14am

i.e.: If I say anything, does it register to anyone ;-) ?

Chad Shine    March 31, 2013 at 2:10pm

Anyone know what the disc was from the 2002 usaadgc was? I just got one but can't figure out what is is. It is discraft and looks kinda like a wasp or magnet maybe?

John Minicuci    March 14, 2013 at 2:51pm

Thanks Mark, What happened this year?

John Minicuci   March 14, 2013 at 6:24pm

The list of qualified players is almost complete up to the tournaments that have already happened from late May 2012 through the beginning of March 2013. The list of qualified players does not represent those who have registered. Registration for the 2013 USADGC will soon be open as well.

John Minicuci   March 14, 2013 at 6:26pm

The 2013 DGLO will not be accepting any cashless registrations. There are 144 spots available for the A Tier Amateur event at Hudson Mills and another 144 spots available for the Pro NT at the Toboggan. Jump on in, the water is warm :-) ! Hope to see you all there...

John Minicuci    February 21, 2013 at 12:53pm

Here is some clarity on the 2013 USADGC. There will soon be a list of official Qualifiers published on the USADGC website. What used to read all A and B Tiers now reads: This list will be completed as soon as possible. However, you can quickly determine whether or not you have already qualified, or make plans to attend an event where you have an opportunity to do so. Most PDGA Amateur singles events sanctioned B-tier and above between the dates of May 25, 2012 and May 19, 2013 are USADGC q ... more

Sign Our Online Petition!

Sign our online petition to show your support for the renovation of Knollwood and the creation of brand new courses in Kalamazoo. Signatures from golfers living anywhere will be appreciated as it will show the City Commission that interest in disc golf extends far beyond the golfers in Kalamazoo alone.

This petition will be shown to the Kalamazoo City Commission at the end of the year and will hopefully lead toward a much bigger professional and amateur disc golf culture in the city!
