2013 Discraft MDGO State Series

2667 discs (including berths) were ordered this year by the MDGO clubs from Discraft. It's going to be a good 2013 for disc golf in Michigan.

We will also be giving away 14 Chainstar portables throughout the season.

There will be 3 different discs to collect again this year but unlike previous years you can buy the one(s) that you do not win. See your local MDGO reps!

Changes to Am2/Am3 payouts for 1st & 2nd at Featured Events

Might as well start the advertising now.... To help address the sandbagging issues at the Michigan State Championships, a motion was made and the Motion was passed: a. For the Am2/Am3 (including the women) divisions in Featured Events, if there is a player that takes 1st or 2nd place and that player has never had a PDGA membership the Featured Event will deduct from that player’s payouts $35 to cover the cost of buying them a PDGA membership. b. To help address the sandbagging issues at the Michigan State Championships, a motion was made and the Motion was passed:
a. For the Am2/Am3 (including the women) divisions in Featured Events, if there is a player that takes 1st or 2nd place and that player has never had a PDGA membership the Featured Event will deduct from that player’s payouts $35 to cover the cost of buying them a PDGA membership.
b. The remaining $10 was initially paid by the player at entry.
c. The last missing $5 is because the MDGO is an Affiliate Club.
d. Non-current PDGA members do not apply.
e. The MDGO will reimburse $17 to the FE to help cover any loss.
f. It is HEAVILY stressed that this needs to be advertised so the player base is aware of this prior to the event.

This was passed to address the issue of players not having player ratings. Even if they are not current, the TD does get a file from the PDGA that includes the player's rating.

The Michigan Disc Golf is registered as a PDGA Affiliate Club for 2013.

If you register for PDGA membership for 2013 using the Affiliate Club option on the www.pdgastore.com website, you will get a $5 discount.

The MDGO is not listed in the drop-down menu for clubs yet but should be available shortly.

The MDGO is looking for artwork for the 2013 MDGO Berth, Raffle, Championships and 1 Hot Stamp (b/w)disc. We will provide a stipend for all artwork used. We will have digital files available of the club logos and Holes (pictures) avail by Fri Oct, 19. Please send an email to art@mdgo.org if you need these files. Here's the details of what is needed and required:

All submissions must be in by Nov.21 2012.

3 different full color discs 1 Hot stamp - you may submit for 1 disc 2 discs 3 or all 4. You may submit more than 1 for each disc.

Theme of all full color discs are Memorable Holes of Michigan Disc Golf.
1st disc is Sleepy Hollow "The Legend" hole 9
2nd disc is Holly Woods hole 18
3rd is Mason Co. "Beast" hole 1 & Michigan State Championships


Full color artwork must include:
Discraft Michigan State Series
Michigan Disc Golf Org. (MDGO)
Each disc must have name of course, hole # and the associated club name or logo (Capital City Renegades , Flint Town Flyerz, Mason Co Disc Golf Org.

Hot stamp disc must have :
Discraft Michigan State Series
Michigan Disc Golf Org. (MDGO)
CCR club logo, March Mush and Sleepy Hollow along with FTF logo, Chain Reaction and Holly Woods.

Rescheduled meeting to Saturday September 22

Due to circumstances out of my control I will need to re-schedule the first meeting from Sunday September 23 to Saturday September 22.
I have recently changed jobs for the first time in 13+ years and would not be able to host the meeting then.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

As always, meeting days will rotate Sunday/Saturday to give everyone ample opportunity to attend.

Help Find the low life

ATTENTION ALL DISC GOLFERS

This weekend at states Jeffrey H Schwass had his golf bag stolen frm his home.
We will be posting the contents and we what your help in finding the low life that took this. All discs have his name on them.

Also a basket was stolen aprox the same time from his yard.
