I'm in Kenai for the week and want to play the local courses. Anybody wanna play? I'm interested in playing the nikiski course if it's playable, and sky view as well. Gonna head to the eagle today around 5ish. Any tips for nikiski? I read about lots of tall grass??

Vance Wonser    June 4 at 6:30pm

Last week there was a flyer on the tee 1 bench saying that there would be league play at 11am Saturday the 26th. I couldn't make it but wondered if that was going to be a weekly thing???

Edan Badajos    June 1 at 1:55pm

It is looking like mid June for the tee pad installation project at the Eagle, most likely the week of 15th-20th. Talked with Chris and he wants to get them in before dip net season. More info coming soon!

Edan Badajos    May 11 at 1:39pm

I will be in kenai this afternoon, putting up posters and checking out the course. Most likely between 5 and 7 pm. I will also have the rest of the Shorebird plastic for sale. See you soon!

Edan Badajos    April 28 at 1:53pm

Just spoke with the City of Kenai, Tee pads are scheduled to be installed this summer! I will have more information on how we can help out with this project soon!

Disc golf continues to grow exponentially but under the mainstream radar… This lifestyle sport has everything to do with landscape design, culture and leisure recreation for an increasingly urban world… Anyone interested in this subject should check out this 2013 Landscape Architecture Masters thesis from Cal Poly Pomona: Disc Golf Course Design: Inscribing Lifestyle into Underutilized Landscapes, for the short, cold months ahead:

I'm an old guy who's new to disc golf but having a ball at it with the family. Is there going to be any league stuff here in Kenai/Soldotna this year? Are there any more tournaments? I am no where near having the skills to compete but would enjoy watching & maybe helping out.

Yeah there will be leagues being started shortly. I work two weeks on two weeks off but trying find guys and/or girls to join. Lots of throwers out there. Welcome to the disc golf world and welcome to the scene.

Which one of you melon farmers works in the oilfield down in Swanson? Saw an f150 with a DD sticker and a PKDG sticker on it today when I was out there working.

Chris Goodrich    December 27, 2013 at 9:39am

Is there a Kenai board or Rep in place right now?

Edan Badajos   December 27, 2013 at 3:28pm

It was Andrew Jackson last year but he has moved away. We are looking for somebody to step up and take on that position.

Chris Goodrich   December 27, 2013 at 11:28pm

Ian, James?

Loren Benedict    September 3, 2013 at 3:03pm

Darin Hagen    June 8, 2013 at 5:23pm

Are there any leagues this year?

Chris Goodrich   June 11, 2013 at 11:44pm

Hey Darin, I haven't been around since 2011 and I'm not sure what all has been going for leagues since then. But send some feelers out to James Gough, Ian Dolphin and Luke Baumer. Those guys can help you link in, or maybe support you in starting up a new league. Best of luck and enjoy the Eagle.

Darin Hagen   June 12, 2013 at 6:44pm

Thanks Chris.

Andrew Jackson    July 28, 2012 at 1:54am

I'll be out shooting this weekend...and getting as crow flies distances....tee pads are undecided..depends on A) funding and B) improvements to the trails..or so I was informed this afternoon

Chris Goodrich    July 28, 2012 at 1:13am

We need pics AJ. I got to walk it when it was still in the preliminary stages, I'd love to see it with baskets in the ground. Have they decided on tee pads?

Andrew Jackson    July 27, 2012 at 11:16pm

Well the new course at SkyView has all 19 baskets in, plus a practice basket near the parking lot...Don't know when the signage is going to be up, but this looks like an enjoyably challenging course with great potential to eat up plastis if one is not careful
