**UPDATE** Gateway Collegiate Classic (St. Louis), Day 1:
After departing MHK around 10:00 AM, we rolled into St. Louis shortly after 4:00 and got settled in. We were able take a look at our first course on the competition schedule, Endicott Park where we will be playing two rounds of singles tomorrow. Very Waterworks-esque in nature, lots of terrain elevation and tall trees that stress strategic thinking and accuracy.
After getting a feel for the course, we drove down to Festus, MO wher ...

Per Josh's orders: Doubles league is still on tonight at 5:30 p.m. for those interested. I won't be there and the team is currently en route to St. Louis, so it may be a small gathering. Post results on here if rounds are played.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to the K-State Disc Golf Club. As of the most recent Sports Club council meeting, Disc Golf is ranked 12th out of 28 clubs in being the most active/organized!
We are currently at 210 points (1st ranked club has 245). Points are awarded based on representation at SCC meetings, completing required paperwork and turning it in on time, attending the OSAS club fair, traveling/hosting competitions, fundraising, and community service.
Good news for us, end-of-ye ...

Obstacle course? Do you run though tires and do monkey bars when you play it? Sounds cool!
Good job K-State DG Club. Sounds like you're doing a great job of promoting or sport on campu. We will all benefit from that increased visibility in our community.

Last day to get in your Q-rounds! Let me know what rounds were played so I can put them in and get the final composite scores tabulated.
Travis Bailey March 9, 2013 at 10:17am
Anyone interested in a round at Tuttle at 11 tomorrow? Anyone who doesn't have all of their Q rounds done. I'd like to get out there and play. Let me know!

So regardless of whether I make the team or not I'm planning on going on the STL trip, I believe Mitch, Tim and AJ are all also game. My girlfriend is going to tag along as well so I'm willing to drive and plan on leaving Sunday evening after spending some time in the city. Who else is planning on going/whats you gameplan for the weekend? The St. Louis Travelodge has rooms with 2 queen beds for $50 a night just a couple miles from the course.
I went ahead and booked a two queen bed room, free cancellation so I figured I might as well reserve one hah

Just realized that I won't be able to make the tournament in St. Louis and want to wish you guys good luck on your qualifying and at the event. Rep KSU well and play for the team. Keep that team idea in mind when the final four guys are chosen.

Possible Q-Round tomorrow afternoon if anybody's free. Hit me up! 2:30 PM tee off or so, any course.
Just to clarify, this was posted yesterday. Anybody interesting in playing today, Wednesday February 27 at 2:30 PM?

Alright everyone, Josh and I have finally figured out what we need to do for fundraising. We have written up a general letter for you to take to businesses and have decided that we would like to raise at least $500. The way we are going to do this is by asking businesses for a minimum of a $50 donation to secure their companies logo on the back of our team t-shirts. We will obviously accept more or less than $50, but do let those who donate less than $50 know that they will not be on the t-shirt ... more

Is anyone else worried about not finishing all 6 rounds? This darn snow has ruined everything. Haha
I need one more at Tuttle, and was wanting two more at Fairmont. The only day that I can play really is Friday. Anyone interested in at least two rounds some time after Noon? Let me know!
I'm not too worried. We have until Sunday evening, March 10th to finalize our St. Louis roster. If anything, I'll probably resort to playing a 36-hole round to count for two qualifying rounds.
So does this mean we have until the 10th now, or still the third? I'm just worried because even if I play Friday I'd have to skip out on work to get the rounds in.
We'll figure something out. I am planning on calling a meeting Thursday March 7th to see where we're at and determine the best course of action. And yes, Sunday the 10th is the final deadline for Q-round scores.

Anyone want to get a round in at fairmount and build snow mountain?!
It came together nicely considering we could only find one partially broken snow shovel. The staircase really sealed the deal.
K-State Club, Please get there plenty early to install the final equipment...

These are great questions to consider. I'll try to address each of these, but I am open to bringing these to vote if they group would like to discuss them further.
(1) If a player is unable to complete all 9 rounds, he may still be eligible to qualify as long as he has posted six total scores, two at Fairmont, two at Warner, and two at Tuttle. If anything, he is limiting his opportunity to score lower in a third round. But in the case of a tiebreaker, the tie will go to the player who ...

And lastly, what you were just saying is that if you say a round is a Q round before, it has to stay that way? No not turning in bad rounds?
(1) The penalty for not completing at least six (6) total scores, two from each course, is simply that you are not eligible to be considered for the St. Louis tournament squad.
(2) And yes, if you designate the round as a Qualifier Tryout round, it is a permanent decision. Choose wisely :P Taking a DNF mid-round would just allow a player as many do-overs as they wanted. Once you start a Q-round, it is going to be recorded as one of the three whether the player finishes or not.
Travis Bailey February 17, 2013 at 6:33am
Some questions that have come up about Q-Rounds:
If we are unable to play all 9 rounds, what is the penalty, if there is one?
Is score the only determining factor for who goes? Not club participation, choosing what would be pairs for the team round wisely?
Can scores be called into question if it wasn't played with other K-State players?
Travis Bailey February 14, 2013 at 11:32pm
Anyone up for Tuttle or Warner tomorrow after noon? I'm free after 10am. Willing to play both.
I need to redeem my 66 from yesterday. Haha
I'm willing to play twice either today or tomorrow. Just text me. 6204810606

Josh Carroll February 13, 2013 at 8:50pm

Kevin Weber February 12, 2013 at 9:20pm
Anyone want to get in a qualifier this afternoon? I am free most of the day if anyone is going out.
Just for the record... the obstacle course is sweet! You can really only play when school is not in session but it is a lot of fun.
