WE REALLY NEED SOMEONE TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE MEETING ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4TH, AT 10AM (get there early) IN ORDER TO RESERVE THE ROUTES THAT WE WANT. THEY ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN REPRESENT US!
We will be opening our doors on Friday, October 4. This is important to note, because the routes are given out on a first come first serve basis. We want to help as many groups and families as we can, but unfortunately we eventually do run out of routes. I recommend coming in on the first day if possible.
Here are some more details:
Manhattan Delivery -
-Greg is the manager that we will have in charge of the Manhattan routes this year. He will be the gentleman in charge of helping you pick your routes and get started. Each person who checks out a route will need their Drivers License and proof of insurance.
- Our first delivery meeting is October 4th at 10:00 am. The meeting will last approximately 25-30 minutes. We will have these delivery meetings every single weekday(starting on Oct 4) at 10am and 1pm. You may attend any meeting you would like.
-Please keep in mind that the routes will be given out on a first come/first serve basis until they are all complete.
-Immediately following that meeting you will be able to choose the routes for your group or family. Greg will let you check out as many routes as you can complete in the 3 business day time period. Once those routes are complete you are welcome to choose some more routes, or you may stop delivery after the completion of your first routes. It is completely up to you.
-Once you have chosen your routes, you can come and pick up books whenever you would like, as many times as you would like, during our business hours.
-If you are working with a group, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO LET GREG KNOW, so that he will pay you the higher rate.
-If your group enjoys the delivery process and completes numerous routes, we also have other delivery projects in Manhattan throughout the year. We are looking for reliable groups in the area to deliver door hangers early next year as well.

Don't forget that sponsorships are necessary if we are going to send a team to Iowa (and any other tournaments thereafter). Pair up with a buddy and ask around. The link to the sponsorship documents can be found under the 2013-14 Sponsorship Campaign (Fundraising) news post.

Is there a way to see current standings from qualifier rounds?
Josh Carroll September 16 at 7:24pm
The broadcast crew that recorded our last Friday practice is looking for a couple of us to show up on Wednesday, September 18 for the live newscast to provide some last-minute footage. If anybody is available from 9:30-11am or so on Wednesday, please comment below. Thanks!

I have not yet posted any news about the Tryout Round process, but is anybody free to get in one of their official rounds tonight? Any time, any course is good for me.

Hey could I get a ride to practice tonight? That'd be great.

So... since there is no class Monday. I was thinking about taking a trip to Emporia on Monday... Is anyone interested?
Mitchell Brenn August 27 at 2:15pm
I'm going to fairmont around 2:45/3:00 to get some practice putting in if anyone would like to join.
Travis Bailey August 27 at 12:40pm
What is the texting program that you guys use? I get all of them indivdually. Should we all try and get GroupMe?
Would anyone like to play tonight other than Tuttle?
Josh Carroll August 26 at 4:10pm
Glad to hear back from you Ian. We are still working on specifics, but I will be sending out an email later this week after the OSAS Club & Activities fair on Thursday.
Mitchell Brenn, our team captain, has told me that we should plan to meet at Fairmont on Saturday, August 31 for our first practice (due to the Friday night football home-opener). Future practices throughout the fall will likely be scheduled for Friday evenings. Stay tuned.
Ian Waters August 25 at 8:18pm
I expressed interest in joining the club team towards the end of last school year. Do you guys stay active during the entire school year. If so, how do I go about joining you guys because I'm really interested.

Is anyone up for a round at Tuttle around 3:30/4 today? I'd like to play before I head to camp for two weeks.
I can't drive my car because my driver's window fell into the door, so I'd need a ride. Just send a text if you're wanting to play!

Hello K-State Disc Golf Club,
Please allow me to pitch something to you regarding one of your club’s home courses, located at Fairmont Park.
As you may or may not know, the Manhattan based disc golf club Disc Fanatics of Kansas (DFOK) is working with Riley County Parks to remodel & expand the Fairmont Disc Golf Course. In order to stay up to date with the project please Favorite and/or follow the club’s Talk tab on discgolfscene.com ( http://www.discgolfscene.com/clubs/Disc_Fanatics_of_Kansas ). You can also Like us on Facebook, Follow us on Twitter, or go to www.dfok.us
As part of this project, DFOK is responsible for raising $4500 to contribute to the project. Riley County Parks will also be paying for project improvements, in addition to our $4500 budget. I order to raise our DFOK club share, we are asking organizations & individuals if they would like to be a "Fairway Sponsor". By sponsoring a “full fairway” for $500, or a “half fairway” for $250, their name will be displayed on permanent course signage. Sponsorship opportunities are limited, 9 "fulls" or 18 "halfs" or a combination of both. These Fairway Sponsorships" are available on a first-come first-served basis.
Here’s where the K-STATE DISC GOLF CLUB comes in. You guys & gals are members of an ideal organization to sponsor a fairway. If your club sponsored a fairway, it could be something you would be proud of for decades to come. It would go a long way in establishing a legacy for others to follow. It could be a recruiting tool that would motivate new students to learn more about your club. It could be something your club can put on your organizational resume as giving back to the Community. The list of positives goes on & on.
All it would take for your club to sponsor a half fairway is for 20 members to pitch in $12.50, or 10 members to pitch in $25, or any combination equaling $250. Since it’s a first come, first served process, there’s no specific deadline on DFOK for finding the required sponsors. Meanwhile (in a few weeks) many of you will be out of school working your summer jobs and may have $12.50 or $25 (or more) discretionary dollars in your pockets. So by that time your club sponsoring a fairway could be very do-able.
One way to do it would be to designate one person to mail your K-State Club member donations to until you get to the desired $ level of your choice (ie $250 or $500). After you get to your desired $ level, then have that person deliver those funds to me. Then BANG, your club has permanent recognition in Fairmont Park! (Note: Final sponsorship checks are to made out to Riley County Parks).
Opportunities to get your name permanently displayed on courses do not come up very often. Therefore, please seriously consider your options.
p.s. You can start raising money amongst yourselves anytime, then refund it back to your members if you happen fall short of raising it in time to get the last spot.
