I**Indian Hills Update** Left Manhattan about 11am on Friday and drove about 6 hours to Indian Hills IA. We got into town at about 5:30pm and went straight to Indian Hills Community College to play a round. Got a good feel for it there, then ate at a bar and grill called Uncle Bucks, and then went to the hotel. I**Indian Hills Update**
Left Manhattan about 11am on Friday and drove about 6 hours to Indian Hills IA. We got into town at about 5:30pm and went straight to Indian Hills Community College to play a round. Got a good feel for it there, then ate at a bar and grill called Uncle Bucks, and then went to the hotel.
Saturday morning we get to Memorial Park at about 7:30am and warmed up until the players meeeting at 8:30. It rained for about t20 mins during the players meeting and that was it! Today was the team day, so Tim and I were partners and Jeff and AJ were partners. We played Memorial alright considering half of us had never seen the course before. We shot a 3 under par, with Tim chaining out on hole 14 for an almost ace! After lunch at Subway, we headed out to Indian Hills Community College to get warmed up and practiced a couple of drives because of the wind that had picked up since this morning. This round, we did amazing with a score of 9 under par! We scored so well because we were all parking holes and if we didn't, the other guys were making up for on the putts. We birdied the over 600ft hole and only had 1 boggie the whole round. The tournament director told us after the round that that was the best round he had ever seen on that course with those long positions in his 30 something years of playing disc golf!
Tomorrow is the singles day with Memorial at 8:30am and Indian Hills after that. Wish us luck!

I know that Jacob and myself are gonna walk Aggieville later today (around 4pm) to beg for sponsorships. We'd love for people to come help. If you do, wear a disc golf/K-State related shirt and plenty of copies of the letter.
If you want to go along, post in the groupme so that we can plan accordingly.
ALSO, I may start delivering some of the phone books tomorrow evening. It's the only night I'm completely free.

We currently have 1,240 telephone books in our possession to distribute over the course of the next few days. The group rate for delivering these books is $0.25 per book so we're looking at a potential earning of $310. Be sure to keep Monday and Tuesday nights available for a couple of hours to get ALL of these books delivered.
Big thanks to Jacob Patchen who helped me check out the routes and load up books at the warehouse and getting them unloaded and to David Moreno who helped unload books for part of the time.

Fundraising opportunity! It gets us $100-$200 for a night or two of work. Even less if a lot of people get involved. Delivering phone books in the Manhattan area is the job, and it's really easy. We will be opening our doors on Friday, October 4. This is important to note, because the routes are given out on a first come first serve basis. We want to help as many groups and families as we can, but unfortunately we eventually do run out of routes. I recommend coming in on the first day if possible.
Here are some more details:
Manhattan Delivery -
-Greg is the manager that we will have in charge of the Manhattan routes this year. He will be the gentleman in charge of helping you pick your routes and get started. Each person who checks out a route will need their Drivers License and proof of insurance.
- Our first delivery meeting is October 4th at 10:00 am. The meeting will last approximately 25-30 minutes. We will have these delivery meetings every single weekday(starting on Oct 4) at 10am and 1pm. You may attend any meeting you would like.
-Please keep in mind that the routes will be given out on a first come/first serve basis until they are all complete.
-Immediately following that meeting you will be able to choose the routes for your group or family. Greg will let you check out as many routes as you can complete in the 3 business day time period. Once those routes are complete you are welcome to choose some more routes, or you may stop delivery after the completion of your first routes. It is completely up to you.
-Once you have chosen your routes, you can come and pick up books whenever you would like, as many times as you would like, during our business hours.
-If you are working with a group, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO LET GREG KNOW, so that he will pay you the higher rate.
-If your group enjoys the delivery process and completes numerous routes, we also have other delivery projects in Manhattan throughout the year. We are looking for reliable groups in the area to deliver door hangers early next year as well.

Don't forget that sponsorships are necessary if we are going to send a team to Iowa (and any other tournaments thereafter). Pair up with a buddy and ask around. The link to the sponsorship documents can be found under the 2013-14 Sponsorship Campaign (Fundraising) news post.
