Merry Christmas to you guys! I appreciate each and every one of you and am proud to be apart of such a passionate team.

Haha, thanks Mitch :P

Travis Bailey    December 20 at 11:36pm

Guys, continue to ask for sponsorship help. We are hundreds of dollars short for the next few upcoming tournaments. We desperately need support from family and friends!

Thanks!

Just to point out, however, the recogntion on jerseys is pretty much out of the question at this point. We got the $100 from Discs Unlimited so I told them that I'd put their logo on the backside. The "Bronze" level sponsorship of $25 would still be acceptable.

Travis Bailey   December 21 at 10:45am

Yep, but we could put some type of thank you to donators up on here and Facebook and all that jazz. Just because the recognition isn't there doesn't mean we shouldn't ask.

Josh Carroll   December 21 at 11:00am

Good point. Also, I received some contact information for another potential fundraiser. Travis Redeker sent us who to contact about working the concessions stand in Bramlage for a night.

I deffinetly agree on being cheap. Just to make sure though, this is the only place we can order from?

Josh Carroll   December 24 at 12:17am

Not the only place. Just one of the first I had found that is reasonably priced and doesn't have a ridiculous minimum quantity. They also must be on this list of Licensees: http://www.k-state.edu/logos/lrg-current-licensees.pdf

Ben Nispel   December 27 at 6:48pm

Hey, I'll buy one!

Josh Carroll    December 13 at 4:48pm

Practice will be in the MAC Gym at the Rec again tomorrow, same time! I will also be bringing some samples for an official KSUDGC mark which will be showcased on our 2013-14 season jerseys. Bring your putters!

Vinyl Banner sale is on again! Unless we pay for faster shipping we wouldn't get it here in time for the tournament so maybe Thursday we could discuss having a banner and Josh you should bring a copy of the design you made up to the meeting. Here is the link to the deal. http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/105524/build-a-sign---3x6-personalized-vinyl-banner

Josh Carroll   November 8 at 1:24pm

I went ahead and jumped the gun on this deal, I called Build-A-Sign to make sure they were still offering the November special. I submitted the artwork and went ahead and paid for the banner myself. If the club likes it and wants to claim the banner for KSUDGC use, we can vote to have club funds r ... more

Yeah. We can discuss it on Thursday. (And really, I don't plan on spending more than 20 dollars for the cost of lunch)

Travis Bailey   November 5 at 5:58pm

Josh, even if the club paid for it it would be pointless for you to go buy the stuff anyway. I can just pick it up with club cash when I get the rest of the supplies. Haha, why add that extra reimbursing step?

Josh Carroll   November 5 at 6:27pm

Doesn't matter to me, we can vote on specifics at the club meeting.

I'll be there Mark!

Rick Petrie   November 3 at 2:48pm

I'll be donating a couple discs, one purple and one white... 1 Purple Discraft Buzzz and 1 White Legacy Cannon (wabash cannon?)

Rick Petrie   November 3 at 3:01pm

The wife and I will also be donating 2 K-State Basketball tickets for their game on Nov. 13th. Look for a special sign-up for a chance at these... (to make sure they go to someone who will use them).

Josh Carroll    October 21, 2013 at 11:56am

It is my understanding that there is neither finances nor interest in going to Austin, TX for the regional qualifier tournament. For those who did not hear the news, Iowa State decided to postpone their qualifier tournament until spring since the planning wasn't where it needed to be to successfully host it at this time. Stay tuned for further updates regarding the agenda looking forward.

So no Texas?

Ian Waters    October 16, 2013 at 3:01pm

At our tournament I'm not sure how raffle tickets will be sold but you could sell them by using the raffle tickets as a mulligan and you can have up to 18 mulligans but can buy as many raffle tickets as you want. Say 1 ticket for 1$, 9 tickets for 7$, 18 tickets for 15$ or some other denominations that make more sense. We should have buckets in front of each item being raffled off that they want. Just some thoughts on that.

Josh Carroll   October 16, 2013 at 3:56pm

Mulligans aren't going to fly (orders of the TD) :P Travis has already mentioned that he is very anti-mulligan. But thanks for the raffle suggestions, I think I've heard of that system where they can put the tickets down for the items that they want.

Ian Waters   October 16, 2013 at 9:54pm

Haha gotcha, no problem

Josh Carroll    October 14, 2013 at 9:43pm

Pardon the late acknowledgement, but I'd like to thank everybody that gave up time and energy to get the Yellowbook phonebooks delivered last week. Many of you sacrificed several hours each day to get these books distributed on time and I wanted you to know that your hard work is appreciated. Thanks to Travis for discovering the opportunity, our club raised a total of $283.55 from the phonebook distribution fundraiser. Thanks for your hard work guys: Travis, David, Tim, Jacob, Jeff, and Ian ... more

Hey guys about a week ago I mentioned a vinyl banner we could get on the cheap. Here is a link for all the details on how to get the deal http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/103850/build-a-sign---3x6-personalized-vinyl-banner . Pretty much we can get a 3 x 6 foot banner with any design we want for 19$, free shipping. If we get a design put together we could even have this for the tournament we are hosting.

Josh Carroll   October 14, 2013 at 9:11pm

I like the idea. I threw together a quick sample of a possible banner design. What do you all think: http://www.discgolfscene.com/media/198808_g.jpg

Josh Carroll   October 14, 2013 at 9:12pm

Oh...well I just checked the link and it said the offer for the banner has expired.

Ian Waters   October 14, 2013 at 10:16pm

Dang it! Well I'll keep an eye out for it again in the future. That it is one slick banner though!

Yeah what David said was what I thought we were doing. The final decision is made by the Iowa people. Also I too dont remember us "officially" voting on it. We just talked about it.

David Moreno   October 14, 2013 at 4:28pm

so are we dropping the TX one? because I need to know so I can tell my aunt if we are still staying there or not.

Travis Bailey   October 14, 2013 at 6:30pm

Yeah, definitely need to clear all if this up.

Josh Carroll    October 10, 2013 at 11:23am

Anybody up for getting some practice at Ft. Riley Moon Lake? I think it'd help change things up and get us more mentally ready for courses we'll see at tournaments. Don't know about anybody else, but I'd like a refresher at a course I don't get to play very often.

I'm free today after 1:30 if anybody wanted to go. If not, I think it'd still be a nice team practice round sometime.

I**Indian Hills Update** Left Manhattan about 11am on Friday and drove about 6 hours to Indian Hills IA. We got into town at about 5:30pm and went straight to Indian Hills Community College to play a round. Got a good feel for it there, then ate at a bar and grill called Uncle Bucks, and then went to the hotel. Saturday morning we get to Memorial Park at about 7:30am and warmed up until the players meeeting at 8:30. It rained for about t20 mins during the players meeting and that was it! ... more

Josh Carroll   October 5, 2013 at 11:41pm

Way to tear it up at Indian Hills! (in Ottumwa, IA by the way :P) Looking forward to hearing about the singles rounds tomorrow!

Travis Bailey    October 5, 2013 at 10:04am

I know that Jacob and myself are gonna walk Aggieville later today (around 4pm) to beg for sponsorships. We'd love for people to come help. If you do, wear a disc golf/K-State related shirt and plenty of copies of the letter.

If you want to go along, post in the groupme so that we can plan accordingly.

ALSO, I may start delivering some of the phone books tomorrow evening. It's the only night I'm completely free.

Josh Carroll    October 4, 2013 at 3:35pm

We currently have 1,240 telephone books in our possession to distribute over the course of the next few days. The group rate for delivering these books is $0.25 per book so we're looking at a potential earning of $310. Be sure to keep Monday and Tuesday nights available for a couple of hours to get ALL of these books delivered.

Big thanks to Jacob Patchen who helped me check out the routes and load up books at the warehouse and getting them unloaded and to David Moreno who helped unload books for part of the time.
