We have collected $230 dollars for Feeding America. We have yet to weight the food, but as soon as we have a number we will post the information.

Reminder to all that Ice Bowl will be held at JC Park. This is a cashless pre-reg event as it unsanctioned. Weather is supposed to be awesome this year so we hope to see you all out there in the 50 degree weather. Pay-out will be at Brann's again this year to get us out of the elements to beat the rain. This event will be a two day event. All players must check in at Tournament Central at Brewer Park each day between 8-9am. Player meeting will be at 9:45 each day. Tee-Off at 10:00 am.

All Divisions will be playing for gold, silver and bronze medals as well as bragging rights.

We have opened paid registration for the state games. If you would like to play but do not want to pay online you may pay cash and fill out a form on Wednesday Night League between 4-6pm. You may also register at the state games website.

Working At Brewer Saturday and Sunday 10:30

We will be working again this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday begining at 10:30 am. We will be completing the white & blue remodel during this time. Again, all the extra hands we can get would be great! Amber and I are planning to man a grill for lunch. We will have the grll fired up! If you would like to bring stuff to throw on the grill we will be happy to cook it for you.

We wanted to share a great big thank you to all of you who came out and helped this Sunday. Without all of your hard work, we wouldn't have gotten so much done! We had a lot of extra hands which made things go so quickly! For those of you that are curious how things are going we have almost completely finished the Red course (Old Red & Gold) with the exception of needing to pour two pads and place two baskets into the woods. All t-signs have been pulled to make way for new signs. We wil ... more

Change the Chains- Thank You

Rennovating Brewer Park!

It is official! The Kent County Parks and Recreation have approved Brewer Park to undergo a rennovaton brought to you by the Grand Rapids Dogs of Disc.

You all spoke and we have been working for months to get this going! Please be on the lookout for opportunities to help with the rennovations. We will need volunteers to help!

2012 Updates

Dogs of Disc would like to welcome you to the 31st year of the Grand Rapids Disc Golf Club. There have been many things taking shape since we last met in September. We would like to update you on these events.

1. West Michigan Sports Commission

We have been working closely with the West Michigan Sports Commission to add disc golf to the Meijer Olympic Games. A reminder to all that this event is an amateur event that will be focused on getting younger players involved in the sport. This event will be held at Brewer Park in June. We are going to need others help to make this event a success. Keep your eyes and ears open for opportunities to help disc golf grow in West Michigan!

2. Kent County Parks and Rec Department/Brewer Park Renovation

Dogs of Disc has also been working with the Parks and Recreation Department to develop a new format for Brewer Park. The new layout has been sent for review. We are in the process of setting up a meeting to discuss the changes. Again, if this is approved we will need a lot of help to get things ready this spring!

3. Tournament Schedule

The meetings have been a success with the MDGO this year! We presented our tournament schedule and all was approved! We will again have berths for the state finals this year. A reminder to all that Dog Daze will be held at the Blue Gill Lost Disc Course, in Wayland. A huge thanks again goes out to Joe Gill for making this happen. We are also proud to be hosting this event as part of the J-Bird Players series. This is the first time we have been a part of this series. It was an honor to be approached to host this event!

4. Continued Renovations & Course Improvement

There are some additional Renovations planned for the future, but until more details have been hammered down we will keep that a mystery!

Congratulations to our Ladies!

Wante to take a minute to congratulate 3 of our ladies of DOD. Sue Stephens, Deb Cronkight, and Casey Hertgers represented at he Disc Girls Gone Wild Tournament in Lansing last weekend and all took 2nd place in their divisions respectively! Congratulations ladies! Way to represent Grand Rapids, yourselves and the Dogs of Disc!
