Details of the upcoming season
Ok so here's some details of what's in store, anyone can chime in at any point if I have made a mistake:
-We will be playing Favorite Disc doubles, meaning that you don't have to choose one disc. If your partner likes his shot better than yours then he can throw from his disc and you can throw from your disc. Or you can throw from the same disc, it doesn't matter.
-If someone hits an Ace they will get half of the Ace pot. You can decide before the round starts to split it ...

Freestate Doubles
So it's official, Fredrock will be joining the Freestate doubles league. It will be ran through Discgolfscene.com and I may even set up a local league to track our top players. Jerry recommended this to help decide in who should play in the end of the year tournament.
We will be playing Heritage on Thursdays and rounds will usually start at 6pm, but it will start a little bit earlier the first few weeks until the sunset gets to be later.
You don't have to play everyday to be abl ...

Doubles went great!
12 showed up for our inaugural doubles event at Heritage. There was a 2 way tie for first at -2. Can't remember who won but we decided it by playing ctp with hole 6 from the red tee.
Everyone had fun so we will continue to play doubles from the long tees, but it will still be singles from the short tees unless the golfers want it different.

Doubles at Heritage
This coming Thursday we are going to do a test run of doubles from the long tees. Draw will be random and there will be a fee of $3 to play which can be won back if you are first or second place. For more information goto md-discgolf.com and signup for the forums, our info is under the player meet section. We will be using the same rules, for the most part, that Seneca uses to run their doubles.

One other important thing I left out: The entry fee to play is $3. If there is an odd number of players, the odd player will be designated "Schitzo" and face a choice. The "Schitzo" player can opt to not put in any more money and throw 1 extra shot per hole or they can put in another $3 dollars and throw twice every shot. The team with the lowest score wins. Second place each win their $3 entry fee back. In the event of a tie for first, the teams will go to a playoff if time allows. The team winning the playoff wins the entire entry pot. In the event of a tie for second place or if there are less then 10 total players, the first place team gets the entire entry pot. Also, if a player is designated Schitzo then they have the option of also putting in an extra $1 each to the CTP and Ace pot. If they do this then they will get 2 attempts at each. If they opt not to contribute anymore money then the player must call which shot is the one that counts before he/she throws.
