Thanks Jon. I'm glad to see there are so many DFOK travel options this weekend. Please let me know how that Abilene course is holding up... I too am considering playing in that tourney next month.
Speaking of travel options, Ya gotta read at least part of the article below. WOW! I think he should be made an honorary DFOKer.

I definitely still want to go. It looks like the rain will hold off too, so it should be a good time.
Jon Tveite May 26, 2012 at 9:39pm
I'm glad you guys got something planned that works for Rick. I would go but I have other plans on Sunday.
I would still like to head west to Thomas Park on Monday, and hitting Abilene on the way there or back. Mark, you expressed an interest, as did Austin. Are you guys still up for it? Anyone else want to make the trip?
Rick Petrie May 26, 2012 at 9:32am
Sounds like you and Kirk have a well thought out plan/schedule. I'm looking forward to it.

That Topeka trip will work good for me! I love playing the Big Shunga temp course... Gotta do that once a year.
I have two proposals/opinions, but veto them if needed.
1. I prefer Crestview over Lake Shawnee.
2. We should play the more shaded course of our two in the afternoon.
( It would be super cool if we had time for Big Shunga, then Centennial (Lawrence). Maybe next time though)

Josh, Yes we're there... However, you haven't missed much. Until last week it was basically just there to point players to discgolfscene. Afterall, discgolfscene is far better suited for our DG communications & discussions. Now that we as a group have got out into the community to do a few nice things, I figure it's time to show non-players what we're about. Thus I've posted a few photos from those activities. IMO, Facebook should still only be used by DFOK to show non-players that we're responsible members of the community and that DG is a good use of our community parks... (in other words use Facebook to help us in the political game around town) But when it comes to discussing the game, our leagues, scores, course reviews, etc. to continue to use discgolfscene.

DFOK has a Facebook page?! :O Why haven't I "Liked" it yet?
Rick Petrie May 25, 2012 at 12:05am
Earlier tonight, I posted some photos on the DFOK facebook page. The photos are from the Get Around 2 It, plus the Tuttle Creek Workday earlier this month (May).
If you see you any photos yourself that you don't want on Facebook, just let me know so I can remove/adjust the photo.

Next week is kind of busy for me at work but I’m going to try to be there for one of the afternoons. I agree with Rick, the more we can do for the community the better. It makes it much easier when it comes to course improvements, expansions, and new courses.
Those 4H kids should have come to my putting clinic Tuesday night :)

Me and a cpl others are playing Jones east west and peter pan everyone is welcome , and dynamic is open Monday
Jon Tveite May 24, 2012 at 1:49am
Austin, that's kind of what I was thinking, too -- check out Abilene to see if it's worth playing the tourney there, which is coming up soon. But mostly I'd like to try Thomas Park.
Still, destination is negotiable. I was thinking maybe Eisenhower, or maybe Peter Pan and Eisenhower?
Either Sunday or Monday would be all right for me, I think.
Austin Cranston May 23, 2012 at 11:55pm
I'm open saturday and monday. I love thomas and was wanting to play abilene before the tournament coming up. Living water is pretty lame from what i remember and nothing compared to the other options that are listed.
Mark Kewley May 23, 2012 at 11:02pm
Eisenhower is nice. I have house guests Saturday night so I'm only open to a full day on Monday. I want to get back to Thomas again but I hear it is better in the Spring and Fall beause of poison ivy and other under growth ( I don't know for sure) . I'm up for whatever on Monday though.
Kevin Zane May 23, 2012 at 9:35pm
You guys should make the long trip out to Eisenhower if you haven't played there yet... Well worth the drive in my opinion.
Rick Petrie May 23, 2012 at 9:18pm
... I probably should have also included that Saturday is out for me. So I would prefer Sunday.
Rick Petrie May 23, 2012 at 8:12pm
Hmmm... a one day disc golf road trip? My favorite way to play!
However Salina/Abline courses do much for me...
Jon Tveite May 23, 2012 at 7:47pm
Does anyone have -- or would anyone like to make -- disc golf plans over the holiday weekend? I've never played Thomas Park in Salina, but I'd like to, maybe with the Abilene course or the other Salina course thrown in. I've also been wanting to try the Living Waters course, but I don't even know where it is, precisely. I would entertain other proposals ad well.

If you want to see a larger version of the DFOK group pic, go here --> http://www.discgolfscene.com/courses/Tuttle_Creek_State_Park_River_Pond/Hole_18/44698
It will actually let you zoom in...
Look at it soon because it probably shouldn't be posted here. :-)
